Have fun in your pit of feces and salt. I'll be playing all my games!
Struggling here lads. Got about £7.60 left in my steam wallet but can't find anything decent around that price point. Tempted to just fill up on cheap stuff like hotline miami / l4d2 / portal 2.
Which one?
Looking for a game similar to jedi academy and jedi outcast. Mostly in terms of level design and combat. Steam doesnt have that star trek game made by the same company unfortunately

Hotline Miami and Portal (get both if you haven't played the first) are both great games, even at their original price point. L4D2 has grown more stale with age as everyone playing it knows where literally every spawn is, and the community just isn't there anymore.
Considering Darkest Dungeon.
Also not sure about stardew valley. It sounds like too much of a time sink and I have Uni classes starting up again soon.
Opinions?
i think i did well with this sale
Should I just buy MGR now, and wait to see if Bayonetta gets cheaper in the next sale?

By the author of Cave Story comes a beautifully linear hyper-focused champion of jump and shoot.
(note: Cave Story is also very great but it is strongly recommended you play the superior original freeware version)
A faithful remake of the classic with the most enthralling movement mechanics the NES ever saw.

Thanks brah. I like all of them.

Which is odd since it's at 20k players right now, but Versus still feels empty
Thinking of getting banner saga deluxe pack for $15. Anyone got an opinion on these games?
>>382818739
Maybe Dark Messiah? I feel like Outcast/Academy are really defined by the quality of the melee combat, which is pretty unique, but Dark Messiah has some solid as hell combat too that's complimented well by the level design.
This is probably my favorite game I bought on the sale. Such a good game, only complaint is the lack of enemy variety, then again, I haven';t made it past the first boss yet, so that may change.

Are the music files for hotline miami 2 in ogg files in the game dirs like they were in the first game? I don't want to have to buy the separate soundtrack for them.
>>382818928
Sunless Sea is the only Steam game I've ever returned. I own about 300 games.
It's a plodding, slow ordeal that feels like a Flash game. Virtually every in-game system (sailing, food, combat, exploration) is fundamentally broken in completely obvious ways. The "story" also assumes you're familiar with some fanfic project I've never heard about ("Old London" or some shit). It's a goddamn disaster.

No. That would be DoDonPachi Dai Oujou. Or perhaps Radiant Silvergun. Ikaruga is Reddit-tier meme shit.
I played it back when it was first released for Dreamcast. Nobody in the shmup community took it seriously. It's totally trivial to 1cc, the challenge is scoring chains in creative ways. It's more of a puzzle game than a shmup.

Take-Two backpedaled, OpenIV and modding is a-go again.

>>382819832
noone wants to miss out.. major psychological factor for sales.
be rational about what you are gonna realistically play iwthin the next 6-12 months.
Castle Crasher
Fairy Fencer F advent Dark Force
I refunded some games and now I have 8 bucks in my wallet. I'll probably get one more game before the sale ends. Here are the contenders:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/428550 (Momodora 4)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/289130 (Endless Legend)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/588650 (Dead Cells)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/268500 (X-Com 2)
Note: I really like the look of Dead Cells, but the Early Access makes me worried, even if I heard good things about its current state. I only played Enemy Unkown once, so I probably can hold off and get more playtime before I move on to 2.
>>382819964
You should expand your horizons. Try something new and I'm sure you'll find something worth it.On that note, I'm open to trying out one of those disgusting weeb games. Are there any good ones on Steam for someone who doesn't like weeb games?

Let me pose to you a question in return:What about Western games? Any Western games worth a shit from the past 5 years?
I'm unsure of if stellaris is worth it, but I've heard good things about the other two.
>>382819869
Please, is it good?
>>382820285
Remove Absolution.
Deus Ex HR or Grim fandango?
already played HR before
>>382820480
Valkyria at the very least earns itself a Partial Weeb
>>382820593
I disagree: 95% of it I would argue no. 95% of it is basically WW1 with magic mixed in.
5% of it isn't really enough to justify putting it into Partial Weeb.
Bought these. Played a little bit of Consortium and so far it seems promising. Certainly hope it keeps at it.
I've been thinking about getting Zeno Clash 2, XCOM 2 and Distance, although I doubt the latter will ever get a proper release so it seems like a waste. Which is too bad since Nitronic Rush was a 11/10 and I am going to go play it right now.
>>382820267
It's not even on sale and people are saying it's lacking content and has a lot of bugs they're working on. I think I'll wait till christmas.

This is my summary of purchases. Recommend me a last game based on my taste for the final day.
>>382820562
Grim Fandango is not worth the money. Pirate the GOG version and send a dick pic to Shafer, that fucking con.
Seriously literally the only game I've ever bought where I felt proper buyers remorse. It's nothing more than the original game in higher resolution with a mod to make the controllers less funky.

I'm just gonna refund these games. fuck people who do this shit
I want to buy a city sim, is City Skylines the best on the market or should I buy something else? Is the Skylines DLC worth it? I always loved destroying shit back in Sim City 3000 with natural disasters and aliens and shit, but apparently stuff like that is DLC in Skylines.

any comfy games? exploring or building
>>382821478
I'd say those are both very solid choices
>>382821321
Skylines is great, DLC is debatable. I only own the Mass Transit DLC.
Most of it you can get for free in one form another via mods, some of which are arguably better than the official stuff.
In any case, the base game is certainly worth it and is easily the best city sim made in the last ten years bar none.
>>382821385
Depends what you want out of it. Vanilla can get old quickly but once you get all the artifacts/characters you can break it to your heart's content. More fun with friends, too, and there's threads for servers all the time.
>>382818216
Oh shit, I didn't know Harvester was on Steam

>>382821660
>any comfy games? exploring or building
Another Brick In The Mall but it is early access and half baked but the dev always updates it and keeps in touch with community so it is not one of other early access scams.
>>382821478
Some of the Dishonored's DLC aren't worth it. If you want the dlc, buy the base game + The Knife of Dunwall + The Brigmore Witches.
>>382821321
Skylines base + mods : all you need.
Dlcs are pretty usesless. I have After Dark and Snowfall and I wish I hadn't. I have no idea about Mass Transit but trust me, you will have pretty fun without dlcs.
>>382821289
Made by Ukrainians and eschews typical Western game tones with a massively depressing air of death over the whole game instead of dudes with guns, while also having way more humanity than any game anyone would think of when they think "Western game".
Sorry if it's not super accurate Western games are harder to define than Eastern onesat least for me
>>382821319
Don't even bother gifting games to people, it won't make you happy.
>>382821478
Very good.
>>382821515
All of them. Which DLC is worst and which is best will depend on who you ask (I think DM is best and OWB is worst but hey). Game's cheap as fuck even with all the DLCs.
>>382821784
Thanks I'll pick it up
>>382821605
shit taste detected
I put 40 hours into Dishonored and dropped Isolation the second I saw that it's long-shilled "hyper-adaptive AI" just hovered in front of doorways forever until you lobbed a flare at it.
>>382821660
If you don't have stardew valley, then get it. Covers both of those
Thinking about picking up the new Hitman First Season.
Does the online functionality improve the game at all?
>>382817664
If you get nothing else, get Hollow Knight
>>382821515
Just buy the ultimate edition with all the dlc.
>>382821237
>Frenchmen
>Partially Westerm
>>382821515
Get all of it. Especially the story DLC. They are all worth playing if you liked the base game and I recommend playing them HH > OWB > DM > LR. You can play them at any time you see fit and your characters can survive, but I do recommend waiting at least until you arrive at the strip. And LR should be the last thing you do before finishing the game.
Courier's Stash is pretty crap and needs mods to not break the game. Gun Runner's Arsenal is fun but not much more.
I can only really suggest buying the Valve game collections if you don't have already.
Sure The Witcher 3 is god tier and Hitman 2017 is the best Hitman game, but if you don't like rpg or Hitman they are shit.
The biggest problem with the steam sale is, that there is no real cheap good games. Everything is like 50 % and therefore there is nothing I would really recommend except the mandatory Valve bundle.
>>382821851
Dunwall City Trials are a blast. One of the trials is a Bloody Palace mode, which alone is worth the price.
>>382819414
No they won't, they expire in August.

it's a shitty version of Hitman with no fun mechanics, small maps, plenty of escape/stealth missions, few assassination missions and checkpoint progression that penalize backtracking and exploration. Not that it matters in a Hitman game, but even the story is complete shit.

It's okay. Nothing really amazing bad or good about it. If you're an id fan maybe pick it up, otherwise you are probably better off buying some other shooter. The tech behind it is basically alpha Doom 2016, and I mean that in a very alpha way, id tech 5 had to get rid of a lot of modern stuff like real time shadowmaps and shit to get megatexturing to work, it really felt tech was they were sacrificing everything to get megatexturing to work.

Are they really worse than someone who acts like they are listening to you talk and is actually giving zero shits what you're saying and is just thinking of ways to kill you for some trivial reason which they will later do? Is that worse than a person who would, if able, make having certain ideas and ideologies illegal with regularly scheduled brain scans to enforce it with the penalty for failure being execution?
Grow the fuck up.
>>382824843
Yes they do. You have to go out of your way to not listen to any of the tapes or do certain content to avoid it completely. With your logic, you could say

I found all of them are pretty disappointing. And none of them really add anything to the base game, wish they merged better with the actual game instead of just being a random adventure you play once and then never think about again that playthrough.

You do as you wish. But I don't really see the point. It's not a very deep game and the enjoyment lies in the combat. Playing together with a friend who can fuck shit up for you in a heartbeat, or work together for amazing tactical results, in there lies the real fun.
>>382824046
What's wrong with TB? It gets more crap than it deserves. When it comes to the combat DOS is amazing. Only similar game I've played with better combat is the DOS 2 alpha.

>>382825441
No, you don't have to listen to the tapes at all. They're totally independent of the puzzles. You don't even have to walk through them to get to the puzzles.
You've got real issues regardless. Get out of your bubble and learn to listen to people you philistine.
Make an offer! I'll trade multiple keys for one game as well

So far I have only spent 2,49€ on Battlefield: Bad Company 2. It's a pretty good game. The singleplayer story is shit, but the multiplayer is fun, and that's really what Battlefield is really about. Also planning to drop 4,99€ on Fallout classic collection. I'm on 10€ budget, so that leaves me 2,51€ to spend on something.
TL;DR:
What is the best game I can get for 2,51€ or under?
>>382826336
Rise of the Tomb Raider is okay at 60% off. Kind of repetitive though.
Sands of Time is a great game. Warrior Within is maximum edge and is the first game I ever dropped.

See, I can say random shit too and you have no way of verifying it. You're so pathetic that you're the very thing you're arguing against. You NEED to be right. You won't let this go because you can't possibly deal with yourself being wrong. A game is designed a certain way. Deal with it. Oh wait, you're someone who can't deal with things so he tries to avoid them.
Like I said, good luck on your liberal arts degree.

Again, I don't have a liberal arts degree. I'm a CPA. By the way that's no where comparable to a professor at Yale, the fact that you think it is makes me think you're living on welfare in a swamp somewhere.
You still haven't told me why you can't just avoid the HIDDEN STORY CONTENT all together. Again, a good bit of the content is hidden and the player has to actively search it out. Its not needed to complete the game. It has no impact on anyone unless you're going to spurg out just because a game has something you don't agree with.

Might want to reread, I said he has to be really disconnected from the working world (as in welfare in a swamp) to think being a CPA is on par with being a professor. CPAs are just glorified secretaries with a government seal of approval to verify things. You don't even need higher than a bachelors. It only pays well because no one wants the job.
DOOM, Darkest Dungeon, or Hollow Knight? Please help.

That's the game. It has lots of weird shit going on, lots of red herring, but it's one of the greatest adventure games.

Isn't that terrible?Still probably gonna get it though since corny FMV games are pretty fun.

You are either losing it or you were a retard to begin with. NOBODY buys the sims 3 who is even remotely computer literate. To get all the fucking content with all the packs you have to shell out hundreds of dollars. And worst of all there's NO BENEFIT to it, unlike The Sims 4 which SOME people pay for in order to use the online library which is still active and useful.
You can even pirate most of the sims 3 only upload library these days. You fucked up m8

I just bought Hitman because it was recommended and was a reasonable price. Any other sneakan gaems or games similar to MGS that are on Steam? Are the old Splinter Cells any good?

Ipirated2 a few weeks ago and it's more or less just 1 with a few new shitty looking themes. No real point in getting it over 1, but no real point to not get it either.
Well I guess it might depend a bit on what gamemodes you like, I'm a simple momo man myself so Audiosurf 2 didn't really give me much.

>>382827289
ill tell you why if you shut the fuck up and fuck off somewhere else. you can't avoid the story content because if it's your first time playing a game, you usually go and interact with stuff along the way. you know, you can't expect a new player to not explore the islands / hubs. no one's just gonna be like "hey this island is big, let me not explore any of it and go straight to the puzzles. If you look around ur definitely gonna find computers and voice recordings and stuff. No one in their right mind is going to not interact with them when they see them. I think u think eveyone's gonna come into the game like u, knowing everything about it and what to avoid. Fact of the matter is, someone who hasnt played it before is gonna get some of the story and by then even if they hate it theyre probably invested enough that they wanna finish it for completion's sake because why not, it's not gonna kill them. That's why. Anyone could've told you that. Now stop shitposting please.

My points have remained clear and still aren't responded to. You can't just announce that your side one and dance a jig. .
In fact he didn't make any points. He yelled and cussed and threw out insults. The fact that you think he won is probably more based on your similarly backwards world view of ANYTHING I DON'T AGREE WITH SHOULDN'T BE IN A GAME EVER because you refuse to actually try to understand other people.

The original trilogy is unarguably the best (Chaos Theory especially) but Pandora Tomorrow isn't on Steam so you'll have to pirate that or play the Xbox version. I also recommend the Original Xbox version of Double Agent over the PC version as they are completely different games and the old gen version is better. Conviction and Blacklist are worth playing but aren't nearly as good.

>Buying Shitrank Kengūra instead of Valkyrie Drive
I seriously hope you girls don't do this.
Also bought The Evil Within and am actually really enjoying it, just finished ch 9. Have no trouble with aiming or running out of ammo, as /v/ kiddies complained, there's no reason to waste bullets or regular mooks anyway, there are matches, axes and traps to deal with them. Game is cinematic as fuck, but hell, it fits. Some different setpieces to keep things interesting. I wish some lasted longer/were harder. Requirements are quite high, but the game looks good, check steam guides on instructions how to make a cache folder so there wouldn't be any noticeable texture pop in and launch commands to get rid of stuttering when unlocking FPS.

I did specify mature adults. Preferably married, or in a serious long term relationship. Too many youngun's make the mistake of assuming it's some kind of waifu simulator because a female NPC is present. Unfortunate, because the game is a great example of the art side of vidya.
>>382828713
>you can't avoid the story content because if it's your first time playing a game, you usually go and interact with stuff along the way.
You've said this twice now.
Once again, once you interact with it once, you know what it is. You have no need to ever return and you haven't established why a player who doesn't want to hear this stuff would return.
>If you look around ur definitely gonna find computers and voice recordings and stuff.
You also find bizarre comedy easter eggs, gold star challenges, and the game throws more puzzles at you than you need to complete to get to the next area. There is plenty of reward for exploration outside of these, and again once a player knows what they are, they have no reason to interact with them again.
>u think eveyone's gonna come into the game like u, knowing everything about it and what to avoid.
AGAIN, you only need to interact with ONE of these to know what they are. ONE. That's all you need for context. Then you can decide for yourself to say "Oh, I don't like this sort of thing." and entirely avoid it.
So no, I never said that they could avoid it preemptively. I said they could decide for themselves to avoid it.
The only way your argument makes sense is if hearing JUST ONE snippet would ruin their life. That's honestly how you're talking. Like its blasphamy and if you turn on one computer you're going to spend the rest of life in hell.
But no, that's not what you actually care about. What you actually care about is the secular views being expressed.

Why? How would you describe it? I meant that it has no good freedom of movement and hack and slashing like most action games, like it sort of wants to bridge the gap between action and turned based in some weird fashion. Didn't mean to trigger anyone. I just never found it all that enjoyable so I was wondering if any of the newer games are different in that area and are more "traditional" action combat. Well as traditional you can get while still being instanced.

Jedi Outcast if you want a more traditional singleplayer experience, Academy if you want a more mission based structure with little overarching story.
Personally I find the maps in Academy to be more enjoyable, but the story is a bit non-existent. Does make you feel a lot like a jedi traveling around doing jedi work though. So there is that. It also has more choice when it comes to lightsaber combat.

Okay.
>>382830934
What you said is kind of triggering because it implies that the combat is bad and a lot of people, me included, like Tales combat. I don't really see any similarity to turn based combat but that's fine if you don't like it, it's a fairly unusual system. The Tales games all have variations of that type of system so If you really don't like it at all Berseria won't change your mind.
>>382831751what if I already own them all?
>>382831476
than*
>>382831710
That's still no excuse to PAY for the ones you do want. Worst case scenario let's say some rich guy is sponsoring you and you're not paying a penny. You're still giving free money to EA.
>>382831249
Yes. Enjoy your Stalkerish greentext worthy deaths.
>>382831671
I bought the regular version of BFBC2 and there's plenty of full servers 24/7, so I bet the Vietnam expansion will have players as well.
>>382831751
>saints row the third
>not saints row the 2nd
>>382831835
Then you buy 1~2 other, more expensive great games instead of several cheap ones.
>>382831774
Let me reiterate what I fucking said.
>as games, in 2017, they're fucking terrible to play
>>382831925
Has issues on a lot of people's PCs. Better experienced on a console.
>>382830738
Anyone?
>>382818924
Avoid the latest DLC like the plague.
People how have beaten the vanilla game are miserable trying to deal with Rek't Hook's latest abortion.
>>382831498
>But, as games, in 2017, they're fucking terrible to play, and you probably won't be able to get past the rough edges and appreciate why they're cult classics.
I kind of know what I'm getting into.
Lot of text dialogue for Planescape and mindnumbing difficulty for Pathologic and the void.
>>382831925
If you don't have a toaster, SR2 tends to sperg out on PC because your GPU is too powerful for it. A lot of old games had issues like this actually.
Any good games from the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube era?
Looking for something like Sudeki, Tales of Symphonia, GTA3
>>382818924
>I have Uni classes starting up again soon
Fuck you man. We come here to forget about that shit. Fuck you for bringing it up.
>>382832119
I would say Grandia 2 but it doesnt have a sale
>>382832049
and not fun, challenging difficulty. More like, "wow, this game is really busted and poorly designed," difficulty.
>>382832119
Rainbow Six 3 GOLD
>>382831905
you just sold me the game then. good replay value plus meme material is always a yes. i am buying it right now.
Which one should I get, anons?

>>382831618
>>382830934
God dammit. Thought you were talking about Graces f not Valkyrie Drive. Sorry.
>>382831783
My bad. Yeah I was talking from a more subjective personal role.
>I don't really see any similarity to turn based combat
I may have worded that badly. It just has a sort of weird system whose rigidness reminds me of a turn based game a bit, like they don't trust the players to be able to move around by themselves and they still want to have a sort of "tactical" element in there. You could sort of say I would have preferred it to be more like Yakuza with swords and magic in terms of movement and hacking and slashing.
>>382832119
if you want a decent gta clone get Driver Parallel Lines, it works with a xbone controller too
Also Beyond Good and Evil, Prince of Persia and Jade Empire
>>382832352
Guacamelee. Get Super Turbo Championship Edition instead of gold, it's the newest version with the most content. HLD has anita and zoe in the credits, RimWorld is too much right now
>>382832437
Why is it impossible to buy Driver SF?
I'm looking for a good MP game 'cause I've got no friends, what do you guys recommend?
>>382832352
not chroma squad, that's for sure
>>382832578
Day of Infamy is pretty fun.
Prease buy Sayonara Umihara Kawase, kudasai onegaishimasu.
>>382830103
Gets pretty repetitive since you have to run through the same areas a few times to get certain endings to progress the story. I don't think 7.49 is a bad price though.
>>382832352
I dropped Chroma Squad pretty quickly. That doesn't mean it's awful, I just didn't like it. I couldn't deal with the broken English. Brazilians wrote it, and it shows. Gameplay-wise, it's not bad, but it's not really engaging enough to hook you for more than a few hours.
>>382832437
Isn't BGaE and Jade Empire(at least the steam version) more or less broken and unplayable?
>>382832534
there used to be a link that worked even when the game was removed from steam
but seems like that was deleted too, sorry anon
>>382832352
Get the better Guacameme and nothing else.
>>382832119
GTA 3 is bad though. San Andreas is great.
>>382832696
It turns into an actual bad game later on
A lot of bosses are total bullshit (in a bad way) and a lot of the maps are just dumb
>>382832757
t. Underage
3 and VC were amazing for their time and still have a nice feeling going back to them
>>382832678
But anon, I already didfun games
>>382832526
>>382832632
>>382832696
>>382832739
Thanks, anons. I didn't even realize there was a better Guac.
>>382832352
Guacamelee has an enhanced edition called STC
>>382832715
It has been rotting in my wishlist ever since.
Right next to Metro 2033, Bioshock, Prototype and some Spiderman games
>>382832213
>if it's not a generic ubisoft game, it's literally unplayable in (((current year)))
Nah, fuck of. Pathologic is perfectly playable and very interesting survival game, HD version means you can even understand what the characters are talking about and what you have to do so it's basically an easy mode.
The Void was too meme for me though.
