Few things, the launch and marketing before launch was horrible, however after phil spencer stepped in, they seem somewhat getting their shit together with few slips there and there (xbox game pass, allowing fully modding in games (ps4 has limitation on what things you can use in modding), allowing cross play, backwards compatibility). They alright, but their og xbox one is bit too weak, its still a decent system, just needed to be on part as ps4 and they would be alright in my eyes.
Also i kinda feel the online always bs was overreaction, because honestly, most of games are always online anyway (atleast to have full experience) look at COD and other games, you can't have full experience without online connectivity these days

Because there's no way to argue the PS4 is worse than the PS3 on most hardware fronts. Whereas the Switch has a lot of sidesteps or backsteps from the WiiU/3DS hardware, on top of how heavily it's relying on the libraries of both of those consoles (particularly the WiiU).

Imagine if the PS3 and PS4 both got nearly identical versions of The Last of Us on the same day which is also the launch day of the PS4. And that being the PS4's big exclusive for months. And it's also sitting on a cheaper console with a currently more filled out library.
