it's actually pretty fun and interesting to play, I've increased my rank in ranked matches and fights are now very interesting, looking for openings to attack is actually hard now and choosing the correct arms is now crucial to win, of course using your characters abilities is also crucial, reaction time also now plays a big part of the game and being able to maximize your special is key.

The only thing this really had going for it was that quirky commentator and the music. Everything else is very meh.

It's a solid game with a surprising amount of depth (just look at all the various defensive options) that's fun as a casual experience.

However, the game is just too slow to be competitively viable. Punches are too weak and keepaway is too good, so almost every competitive match results in one player getting a punch in and dodging continuously to run out the clock. The game needs to have several physics changes in order to be competitively viable.

my only main issues I have with this game are
1. the joycons don't work. you are literally handicapping yourself if you use them over the pro controller
2. having all ARMS available for all characters is a mess. either people are picking the best characters / bubbs (big gloves that go through anything) or they're picking the best characters with a meme ARM combo. the game would be a lot better if the characters only had their default ARMS available for use. That way everyone can actually figure out what to do against the ARM combos because there won't be so many of them, and only Byte and Barq will have access to bubbs (Byte and Barq aren't very good)

I think that how they handled the different arms was a huge misfire, each characters default arms should be exclusive to them and the unlockable arms should just be bonus arms that anyone can use. It's fun enough, but there's literally nothing about it where one could get invested in it as you could a game like Smash or Splatoon. It's got a severe lack of content, Arms can only be acquired through RNG, and the actual skill ceiling for the game isn't very high. The only difference is really, defensive play and aggressive play and doesn't branch off anywhere else. And I'm particularly good at the game I'd like to think, I'm at Rank 15, which is the highest ranking cap in the game.

They will likely do a tweet or something once it breaks 1 million like they usually do but you'll have to wait for an investor's call for more accurate worldwide numbers. If I'd have to guess it's probably somewhere around 500k worldwide right now. Japan is somewhere around 160k if you factor in downloads but sales are being cockblocked by the lack of Switch consoles to sell, in the UK it sold 15k which is a bit on the low-side (though I suppose you could argue it's decent since UK has never been big on Nintendo or fighting games) but it's charting well in more Nintendo-receptive countries like France, so probably 100k in Europe total I'm guessing. NA more than likely somewhere at 300k since that's where the target audience is and they've been running a bunch of adverts for it including the NBA finals.

It'll break a million easily but it might take a little while. Might get a sales boost once Splatoon comes out and people buy more consoles cause right now the game seems to have a 1:10 attach rate.

Ranked matches at higher levels get pretty intense. Had a master mummy wreck my shit and he was just using the default gloves mummy gets . Though, I am also really liking the unranked party mode which is kind of surprising. Thought I'd hate it but it's nice casual fun. It's a decent way to test characters and arms.

What's everyone's mains? I've been using Helix. Shit is an uphill battle.
