I don't think it did anything honestly. None of the Elder Scrolls games are good in my opinion, they're just addicting, and i've played at least 2000 hours between Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. I remember the feeling I had on my first play.

The first Dark Souls came out on my birthday, and I bought it on a whim hoping it would be good. It was the best experience, playing it while no one else really knew what it was about. Couldn't go online to figure anything out either. It sucks since I can't say it's my favorite game without someone going "wow soulsfag here hopped on the bandwagon"
