Did anyone else like the PS1-era GT games better, because you could take almost any stock vehicle that was in the game and turn it into a racing special? Ever since 3, the regular cars are just stepping stones towards buying/winning pre-existing racing models.

GT Sport is launching later this year with 170 cars.
I don't think Polyphony has any excuses at this point. Project CARS 2 has more cars and they got a fraction of the budget that polyphony has.

Last GT came out 4 years ago, in that time span they should have been able to make more than 170 cars.

they removed dynamic weather and daytime, even though GT5 already had both. They also completely removed the Gran Turismo mode, and made it online focused. THEY ALSO REMOVED ALL THE EVERYDAY SHITBOXES, which is the one thing that always made GT stand out from the rest.
Aside from the presentation, GT sport looks like a massive step back in every way. I also wouldnt be surprised if the game released without weather, as they still haven't shown a single frame of rain footage.

what's hilarious is that sony shills constantly try and claim that GT Sport looks better than any other racing game, and they usually do this by showing off replay footage. I got in the beta 2 months ago and couldn't believe just how underwhelming the graphics are in the actual gameplay.

used to be a fan, grew up with 1-4, 5 was shit, 6 was abysmal (spend more time loading than you do racing in the first hour, barely better than 5). I moved onto forza which broke my fanboy heart but it's genuinely so much better

They are still using the version of the Burgerking that was in GT6 instead of rescanning it so it's not even all new content. SMS even got a new scan of the Nurburgring using photogrammetry they are puttiin in PCARS 2. Plus GT sport has two ovals. Northern Isle is a huge rip off of Dover and Blue Moon Bay is a rip off of Daytona. Why couldn't they just license one of these for a real speedway? Especially since Daytona was in 5 and 6.
