Because the gameplay is literally a copy of Dark Souls. The zoning/strafing animation is even ripped straight from DaS2.

I really hope they showcase other combat mechanics soon because as it is, the gameplay is just too monotonous, even by Soulsclone standards.

Character creator was one of the first things they confirmed along with NPC companions.

They also said NPC compinions can die and it's not as simple as just going back to base to revive them. I wonder if that means their deaths will actually effect certain missions or quest lines like in Souls.
