i have completed the game but can somebody tell mewhat's the story behind the solstice ending ?
>>382774654
aww he's cute. what FUCKING GAME IS HE FROM TELL ME
What matters to you more, a world that doesn't exist or a character that doesn't exist
>>382774870
not anime, a game
>>382774947
he is from one shot, avaiableon steam
>>382774958
a fictional character of course.
>>382774947
Oneshot. An RPG about a cat boy suddenly waking up in a semi dead world, with the mission of replacing the "sun" of the world with a new one (changing a lightbulb basically.)
What happens along the way is quite the fun journey.
>>382774654
Niko is cute, but is his game good?
>>382775115
it's a game that likes to break the 4th wall (read: fuck with your computer) it really is something else
>>382775115
The original free game had the gimmick of only being able to beat the game in one shot. Closing the game killed Niko.
But the payed remake on Steam changed up a lot of things, including being able to close the game and a new secret ending that's basically a "true" ending.
>>382775176
fuck with your computer is a pretty big hyperbole for what the game does
>>382774958
to be honesti prefered to send niko at home, because i think that the entire game is trying to tell you that niko was the only real person in this world, while everybody else was just fake, also because people don't care about the sun because the world would have been destroyed anyway
>>382775904
the character that doesn't exist having the audacity to think he exists any more than the whole world that doesn't exist, what a loser
>>382774654
Isn't Niko a girl's name
>>382775115
solid 8/10
Niko?
>>382776335
Not now Roman! I am beezy!

>>382776457
Please keep this thread alive. I am making something special.
>>382777464
ok thenso is there any reason to play the solstice besides being able to save both world and niko ?
>>382775264
I never understood why this game needed to do that. What was the point? The Steam version is way better when it makes you feel guilty of closing the game.
>>382777575
More 4th wall breaking, characters development,Entity true motives and purpose
>>382777575
I say that's a pretty good reason to do it.
>>382777767
It was the gimmick. OneShot was made for a game jam or something.
>>382777575There are a few areas / plot points that are VERY obviously glossed over, and these get filled in during Solstice. You may or may not like the answers, but its definitely even more of a trip than the main game.
>>382777575
You get to see Niko more
>>382777847
Yea the game is better off without it desu
Anyone else disappointed thatthe clover does fuck all during Solstice?
>>382776171
Androgynous on purpose. Niko is whatever you want it to be.
>>382774654
want to make love with him
>>382778880
he is a child you perv
>>382779001

MODS
so if undertale message was "your actions have consequences and you should never let your curiosity win" what's the message in oneshot ?
Fuck off you autistic furfags, this game was shit

>5 non-thumb fingers on the left hand
A for effort, love it still
>>382779970An artificial being or world is only as real as you want it to be.
Solstice fucking sucked.Every ounce of the games direction building up the concepts of hard choice and sacrifice, all these characters you're growing to love but at the same time knowing thier paths are all diverging / incompatible with what you're all heading toward, and Solstice comes in and just slaps all of that tension away with a big huge dick of 'AND THEN THEN EVERYONE WAS OKAY FOREVER THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER AND EVETYONE GOT WHAT THEY WANTED'. Not to mention the entire game was one linear corridor.
>>382780905
>that all caps text
Way to miss the point of the ending.
>>382781075
he makes some good points thought
th entire point of the game was accumulating tension until you don't get to the final decision and then the game should have ended there without having the chance of replaying it
>>382781075
The Solstice ending was goodfor animebut much of the story leading there just fell flat for me.Corrupting literally every notable character from the main game got old really quickly, and until the last 30 minutes there was none of the fourth-wall breaking that kept the main game fresh. Something as simple as showing the journal pages in the clover program, and then aligning the two screens again, would have been a big improvement.
>>382781198The world can't exist without the player running the game, which means the world and characters will stop existing when you finish it anyway.
The point of Solstice's ending was that you're never gonna see these characters again regardless (outside of your memories e.g. fanart and shit) so you might as well let them enjoy a few moments of happiness at the end.
>>382781198
>then the game should have ended there without having the chance of replaying it
You can just don't replay it lol
>>382781746i guess this confirms that saving niko is the best ending, since the world will stop existing anyway even if you bring back the sun
