Hello ladies and gentlemen. This is the first in a series of five reviews I will be doing on /v/ - Video Games. If you haven't posted on /v/ yourself then I highly recommend that you do so before watching this review as I'll be covering this board in depth.

What? He spent a lot of time breaking down each level of the Souls games and talking about it in terms of mechanics and design, while Matthew spent all that time talking about atmosphere and experience. His Furi review breaks down the game mechanics and how the game actually plays far better than Matthew's as well who decides to spend a third of the video complaining about an exploit, even though he does come off as fanboyish.

Pedantically taking about frames isn't mechnical depth. I don't think I have ever heard Anderson use the word "Kinaesthetic" which is pretty much a necessity when attributing the logic behind crunchy attacks. .

Ok but kinaesthetics aren't part of mechanical depth so how is that relevant? He talks about mechanical depth a lot too though, hell, him explaining the damage scaling and how it affects the game in Dragon's Dogma is more indepth than literally anything Matthewmatosis has ever done, except that one time he briefly talked about DS1 PvP I guess.

There's a lot of depth, even kiting the skulls has a surprising amount of it and a proper learning curve, not to mention you can farm the spawners. It's a simple pick up and play game that's challenging, intense and pretty deep for its simplicity. Same appeal as something like Robotron except with way more mechanics but not as tight risk vs reward.

Wouldn't mind hearing his thoughts on Axiom Verge. Still a shame we're not getting MGSV for seemingly a long time. I want to hear his thoughts on that in full more than anything else.
