The problem with boosting is that it completely fucks up the weapon balance now i realise that.
There is no reason not to run shotguns or smg's 24/7 because they usually have the fastest time to kill and range is not a big problem since you can boost or slide right into the action.

Auto-shotguns like gaymaker and brecci (AKA STRIKER IN DISGUISE) also make you flinch which is fucking annoying, they also have a range of a fucking sniper rifle.
So basically you take one of those things and spray from the hip in a general direction of the enemy while boosting in the air. It makes their screen shake like crazy and it's impossible to for them to shoot you back. SKILL

Sniping is just obsolete in these games and since i'm playing sniper rifles since eternity before call of duty it's also a big issue for me.

So far the best supply drop system is Modern Warfare Remastered.

I did not enjoy CoD4 and the next few titles looked even worse.
But I bought BO3 because it looked different enough and I'm enjoying it a lot.

What really bugs me is how the games are this big on consoles while on PC I can't even play all game modes.
I really don't know how the hell anyone would want to play a shooter on a console.

I wasn't really into video games before CoD4 came out, but when it did it replaced Halo 2 as my friends and I's "all nighter" game.

My problem was with the way the maps were designed/advanced movement. In other Call of Duty games when you turn a corner--assuming you've played for a while--you kind of know where the enemy should be. So you know to check maybe like 2-4 areas while moving around.

In AW since everyone could double jump and get on to roofs and scale big walls, you had to be careful of getting shot from way more places/ So, to me, it felt more chaotic than past titles.

It has the most clunky and awkward advanced movement system of any FPS shooter. Plus it introduced the supply drop system which is ironically the worst iteration of it. The weapon balance is horrible because of it.

Why did they change the story of CoD Zombies from "Nazi scientists fucking about with science" to "Magic Aetherians from another dimension interacting with aliens and going back in time to fight knight zombies with giant robots from an alternate dimension"

Everything after BO1 has been utter dogshit with the exception of zombies which is a decent mindless time waster for when I don't feel like doing anything in particular. Love how many custom maps there are on PC, most of them are shit but there's a pretty solid amount of modders who know what they're doing and the mode would get pretty boring with just the official maps. If only they didn't fucking ruin how movement/shooting felt after MW2. BO1 was noticeably worse than the rest of the series but still kinda fun on its own merits, everything after it is worthless. I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I enjoyed ProMod more than CSS, have barely touched CS:GO because it's trash. I'd love for another multiplayer FPS to scratch that itch but I'm sure I won't find it.

Walking a cat is the most boring shit because the donuts keep being super careful in new environments. You may as well bring a lawn chair with you as you advance at the pace of 3 feet a minute while your feline friend gauges its new and exciting surroundings, stopping to sit down every now and then so as to not get too excited.

Maybe it gets better over time but that's what tends to happen when you take a house cat outside in a harness. Most of them also hate the fucking harness and refuse to move with it on at first.

Honourable mention to Ghosts, which I actually really enjoyed.

Black Ops 1 was meh because it was the first game in modern setting for treyarch. It just feels way too different and clunky compared to MW2.
Black Ops 2 was fine apparently.

Same with AW which is the first game for sledgehammer. Hopefully they've learned from their mistakes and WW2 will be better.

Serious post BLOPS 3 is kino. I know the campaign has its defenders but they are few and far between. Doesn't seem to be a middle ground with the game. You ever go all in and accept the bizzarely self-critiquing surreal nightmare or you don't and "muh jetpack 0/10".

I just wish it was somehow connected to BO2.
They've only mentioned menendez once in some dialogue and added nova gas/nazis so that it looks like some kind of fan service instead of being a proper sequel.
The universe is quite cool though with 3d printable weapons, open source AK47 (so that you can print one anywhere)
