You apply pressure in the direction you want to go just like other d-pads, but it's just easier to do it in all directions. If you don't like it, you cand etatch it and put on the regular d-pad too.

The "D" in D-Pad stands for "Direction" or "Directional."

So basically you tilt it in the direction you want. In this instance pressing UP will go up, DOWN goes down, left and right, etc.

Maybe if it had analog triggers, a better default grip on the sticks, and the face buttons weren't so far from each other.
