All combat is built under the assumption that you're a team of 4 similarly leveled characters and it can feel a bit strange only doing 1/4 of the total damage. But once you get further and really understand how to fight various enemies it becomes a lot less thwacking away and a lot more technical stuff. I liked it on pc, but I can understand why many pc players don't like it. It's incredibly flawed. From the characters, to the quests, to the world, to the level and gear dependent combat. The only reason I liked it, is because I actually enjoy grinding BBI and the story was serviceable in the end to make up for it's early crappiness.

I have played quite long time ago, I remember the shittiest things I have seen. As far as I remember combat felt off, but not the reason why. I didnt have enough time to see through whole progression, so I skipped it. The big beasts doesnt feel rewarding at all if you get them fucking everywhere, it gets annoying when you take few minutes to beat this shit down (at least early) and then few steps later you get another one. Abandoning missions should be obligatory, since sometimes people dont want following guy to escort all the time. Also to keep quest log tidy.

Duke was cursed becasue Grigori died, when he was destroyed all of the people whose hearts he had taken were returned to them and they instantly aged the number of years they would have had they been mortal that whole time, that's why the dragonforged turned into dust

The entire point of the dragon and the arisen and the pawn legion is to find somebody of strong enough willpower and with the right spirit of self improvement to tend to the world as the seneschal. The dragon is a great trial for the arisen to overcome to prove their will; the pawn legion is a lower scale version of the world that the arisen will be required to direct once he has taken up the mantle of seneschal. Failed arisens who defeated their dragon but did not defeat the current seneschal become the new dragon.

Your pawn becomes you due to the transfer of spirit thing you learn about during Selene's quest, a pawn who spends long enough with an Arisen can inherit their body and become truly human.

The final ending with the godsbane is up for debate, either you kill yourself, leaving the world without a seneschal, bestowing your pawn your physical form, and letting the world escape the eternal ring of dragons->arisen->seneschal, or else you simply destroyed your physical form to ascend to the same kind of godly essence the guy you replaced was and you perpetuate the cycle just like the guy before you.

People who say warrior is shit are wrong. They are still strong, they are still more than viable in any content, they just aren't as disgustingly OP and unbalanced as the yellow classes, and don't have as many tools as them. This doesn't stop them from being ass wreckers.

Their best tool is simply jump attacks. They deal high knockdown and the attacks are very spammable unlike their normal ground attacks. Couple this with the Eminence augment and their attacks have a very high damage output.

Their skills are rather limited, compared to other classes but they more than make up for it in usefulness.

Arc is your big hitter, but needs time to charge, there's not much that it won't deal massive damage to, and even less that it won't outright kill. You can also use Lash as it's faster, but deals less damag. It still deals heavy stagger and launches some enemies.

Escape slash is your other bread and butter skill. It's basically iframes on demand, and one of the best evasive skills in the game other than the dagger weapon's dodge roll or fighter's similar evade skill. escape slash also has a counter, and it hits like a truck if it lands. Very useful for evading and swiftly punishing foes, just be wary of the recovery animation.

Your third skill is really up to you. Most have spark/corona slash for crowd control, but lunge is also very good against single targets (and occasionaly groups if they cooperate and stay put and you don't slide off of them wasting the charge)

As for weapons, you're going to want to keep up with upgrades more so than any other class. And definitely get a lvl2 weapon asap in BBI. (One of the requests there will upgrade Barroch's inventory to include the warrior lvl2 weapon, Gransys Flamberge, for purchase, if RNG isn't favorable)

One notable warrior weapon mention though is Iraklis. Its effect makes it capable of the highest damage in the game once fully upgraded, and can easily outclass the warrior lvl3 BBI weapon in damage.

One of the reasons why Magick Archers really stood out upon the release of BBI is that a ton of shit there is weak to ice, lightning and fire, which coincide with MA's best bow abilities. The first encounter i had with a chimera was fun as fuck. Me and my noble pawns had just defeated the infamous bandits nort of the initial village and instead of going back to Gran Soren we choose to press further.

In a forest near a deserted tower we found a nest of lizardmen and we started a ferocius fight. Victory was near when suddenly the chimera appeared. It was 10 feet tall, had the head of a lion and where the tail should have been rose the head of a snake!

It rushed to us with all it´s malevolence. I avoided it´s fangs and grabbed to it´s mane and we got separated from my party.
I stabbed it several times but that did nothing to it.
The vicious beast finally shook me off and i fell to the ground. It trempled over my body and it´s snake hed spured poison over me.

Poisoned and alone i feared the worst. No! i had to... i had to survive long enough! If someone of my party was still alive they would come!

We locked into combat for a whole day and a whole night as i timmed and spended every single healing item i possessed.
Finally at the break of the down i was spent yet the beast still lived. All semed lost.

I was resigned to my fate when my remaining 2 pawns arrived! Together we fought my mage, my wizard and me! T´was weak to fire so we tried to set it ablaze... however t´was not enough.
I climbed the still on fire monstrosity and keep stabbing until it moved no more.

Probably one of my favorite games of last gen, and I'm happy it came to PC, and I'm happy it's coming to next gen as well. Strider and assassin are both extremely versatile and assassin can even carry four weapon types to switch up their damage and strategy. Mystic knight is a fantastic elemental and buff tank. Sorc is hit or miss with a lot of people, but the magic in this game is incredible. Warrior is not for everyone, but has people who defend it by typing paragraphs in every thread because it really is just that fucking satisfying.

I played solo warrior and loved the game. While I obviously would describe it as slower gameplay, you feel incredibly powerful. It is definitely not clunky.

On another note, I feel like the game is much more enjoyable when not played on hard when you play as a warrior due to the stagger reduction. Wolves taking 3+ hits to get knocked down just isnt fun.

Mechanically, it's a mess. It tried to do a million things and did them all half assed. But there's a lot of shit to go through.

Combat is generally unsatisfying, as most of the classes aren't thought out, or simply stolen from Monster Hunter with no to few changes. Story is generic and dumb, and the world can get exhausting. Magic is just launching .MOV files with no utility. Training pawns to automate correctly is misery.

It's a fine game, but has a lot of issues. It's crappy. But there's a lot of crap. I get the impression they bit off more than they could chew in development. If it got a sequel, I imagine it would be much reduced. So its main appeal would be lost, and so it would hinge heavily on them improving the overall game without having as much content.

If pawns can be altered physically in any way, it's a 100% guarantee people are getting them to have sex with. Realdolls in real life are somewhat popular despite being piles of plastic shaped to look like a person. Imagine if you could manufacture a supermodel that could walk, talk, would spread its legs anytime you wanted it, and wouldn't care if you fucked up. And would even learn to act like it was the most pleasurable moment of its life, perfectly, if you bothered to train it.
