well, technically, almost every Zeldagame were openworld games, somehow

Breath of the Wild basically added two things to Zeldagames
-you can go everywhere, where you want, no boundaries inside the world
-you can take the dungeons at any order you want, or you can go straight to the boss (after the tutorial area of course)
