The dragons are BoTWs version of Nayru, Din and Farore.
Attacking them simply drops a scale.

You dont. You can get scales from them for armor upgrades. And you can ride them.

Woah I love master mode this is amazing and refreshing gameplay its like the normal mode waseasy mode and the master mode (master quest) is like the way it was meant to be played (one difficutly, dark souls)
