I wouldn't mind it as much if the game didn't keep escalating to ridiculous extremes. The game begins with "we have to destroy the Mechon" and ends with "we have to destroy the GOD of this UNIVERSE in order to become god and create a new universe and save the entire fucking multiverse."

Xenoblade is a great game but the story definitely falls into that over-the-top-we-don't-know-when-to-stop JRPG territory. It's fine, I'm used to it, but it's really, really dumb.
