Blacklist isn't bad but definitely not a step in the right direction. Also you need to wait a few months if you've recently played a different Splinter Cell game because the shock of Michael Ironside not being Sam Fisher will turn you off from playing.

Chaos Theory, no doubt about it, anyone who claims any other game is delusioned or a hipster.

I really want Chaos Theory HD to go on sale for PS3 tomorrow. 1 and 2 would also be great, but I heard the ports were terrible for the system.

Love me some Splinter Cell, played them all except for Double Agent.

The PS2/XBOX version of double agent is pretty good but Chaos Theory is still the best.
1 and 2 are pretty good.
Blacklist and Conviction are very different.
If you ignore the fact they're splinter cell games they are easier to get into.

Blacklist is the best Splinter Cell game by far, it combines all the best aspects of the other games. After Blacklist is Chaos Theory. Pandora Tomorrow is good, Double Agent is alright.

They're ok. Nothing really broken, they're just ports of the PC version so any extras found on the PS2 versions are gone. Totally worth if you have only played the PS2/NGC versions but nothing impressive if you had them on PC or Xbox.

Are double agent and black list any good? Those are the only two I haven't played. I tried to play blacklist but the lack of Michael Ironside put me off but I'd be willing to give it a second try.

They're two very different games. Ubisoft Montreal (Splinter Cell 1, Chaos Theory) made the xbox/ps2 version, Ubisoft Shanghai (Pandora Tomorrow) made the 360/ps3/PC version.
