Players didn't have the same luxury in terms of Servants back then, and Orleans was significantly harder, meaning it was easy to wipe there unless you had a really good team. That's when people begun to discover just how strong Sasaki, a 1 star Servant that basically everyone had, was at dealing with dragons. He begun carrying people through Orleans, and people naturally took that to the extreme by 1v1ing pre-nerf Fafnir with him and winning because of Dodge and crits.

The issue with Jeanne is that even in the JP version, she's still fucking amazing at tanking, except no one wants a tank team. They'd much rather have a crazy "kill the enemies in one turn" team.

It's a combo of Herc and some other things last I checked.

I do want to point out though that G/O actually allows you to have a lot of flexibility in team comp. A stall team of Jeanne and Cu for example can (slowly) go through pretty much anything, but people like to minmax and get it done fast.

Rerolling after day 2 is retarded thing to do. If anyone is still rerolling I have this to say - if you started playing at day 1-2 by now you could have gotten 3 level 50 servants + 6 summon tickets + 30 extra quartz + 20-25 mats + 40-50 xp cards.
So many people were giving away 5* accounts in the first 2-3 days. I personally gave away 8 accounts with combinations of Jeanne, Waver, Vlad, Herc and emiya. You just needed to visit the threads in /v/ and /vg/

although i am significantly overleveled for the content so that probably helped a bit

It's not just her ridiculous attack, but also her skills that are all ridiculous. She can increase her crit dmg by 50%, star gen by 800%, increase the entire group's attack by 20% and increase the entire group's attack against dragons by another 20% all for 3 turns every 5 turns. Then she also has a skill that boosts her Buster Cards by 50% and grant her invincibilty for 1 turn at the cost of 1000HP on a 6 turn CD. Ontop of those skills she also passively gains 4% of her NP every turn, deals 10% extra dmg on crits, and gets +18% NP charge whenever she gets hit. Her NP is a single target Buster nuke (letting you stack it with her Buster buff) that prevents the target from buffing inflicts a DoT on them for 5 turns as well.
ONTOP of all that she's also an Avenger and all the really powerful bosses lately are Rulers which take less damage from mostly everything but Avengers do twice the damage against them.

She's just absolutely absurd and by far the strongest all purpose damage dealer in the game
