For me personally, DaS's interconnected world puts it above the others. I'm a sucker for that Metroidvania style. BB has a great setting/atmosphere but takes a few steps backwards from DaS and I'm not a fan of the changes to the combat. DeS is very novel and has plenty of great moments but is also the least polished of the three, the bosses are "unique" but a lot of them aren't actually fun to fight.

I hated Dark Souls but it grew on me.
Dark Souls 2 is painfully underdeveloped but it least it had interesting world and lore was fun.
Dark Souls 3 is polished as fuck but has 0 replayability, every run is the same, it's linear as fuck. Not to mention that every location is an edgy boring grimdark castle/dungeon.

I have 100% trophies/achievements of the Soulsborne franchise on PS and PC and this is the most objective rankings that nobody will ever be able to refute:

BB:TOHE > DAS3:TFFE > DAS:PTDE (1080+p 60fps HD modded on PC) > DAS2:SOTFS > DES.

NAME TWO GOOD THINGS ABOUT DEMON'S SOULS, YOU CAN'T.

The level design is dogshit, it has no world design, it is a fragmented piece of shit with 6th archestone missing. The shittiest combat, the worst bosses, period, not up for discussion.

Demon's Souls was an experimental game, it had a lot of good things and a lot of terrible things, especially the shitty world tendency which forces you to play offline to manipulate it properly, which makes you miss out on the multi-player aspect of the game.

DeS is just a piece of overrated nostalgia garbage, I will never ever replay DeS, it makes me vomit.

I replay BB, DAS3 and DAS every month, hell even DAS2 from time to time, but NEVER DeS. It has nothing to offer. It was good when it came out, but as more Soulsborne games came out, DeS got outclassed and became garbage when compared to the later entries.

I've played them with both keyboard and mouse and controller. Keyboard and mouse are superior, better camera control. For DaS1 you need dsfix+dsmousefix+autohotkey. For DaS2 you need autohotkey. playing Demon's now, it's clunky as fuck and had only 3 good bosses from memory, only serving as a stepping stone for the future series. none of the games are bad, but it's very clear DeS has not aged well at all, cant see how anyone can play it and not reach that conclusion unless you're saying because its the first one it's the best. DaS, DaS 2, and BB have aged well and are replayable for years on end, and I'm sure DaS 3 will be the same despite it being one of the weaker DaS entries.
