Let's say video games was never invented but still existing are board games. Would board games today get the same treatment as video games do? Would Mouse Trap get an extravagant intro in an E3-like setting? Would Operation have a trailer with somber song covers playing instead of some regular commercial advertising it? Would there be people complaining that the women in Guess Who are being misrepresented?

My argument is basically to say that video games are exactly what it is, games. It's a form of play with rules. I hate the how video games are treated nowadays as if they are supposed to captivate you or shit.

>Can a video game be a work of art?
Yes
>Can the video game medium be an art form?
Yes
>Does this walking simulator with no actual gameplay, which imitates film and other existing art forms instead of advancing the field of game design, prove that the video game medium is an art form?
No
>>
He's right
