If you can get used to Reverse Beat it's not difficult to stay safe, but as a new player you're likely to jump around like a retard and that's really dangerous in this game because you can barely block anything in the air and pretty much every character has moves with giant hitboxes that can hit you from halfway across the screen. It's a game where you get punished by the system itself if you fuck up, so good players really steamroll bad ones.

Even if it did, EVO is basically a giant advertisement competition from what we've seen: Microsoft pushed for Killer Instinct announcement at EVO; Nintendo pushing two Smash games at the same time and advertising Splatoon in the streams; UMvC3 still being showcased despite it's numerous flaws; Tekken 7 and SFxT.

They definitely are not. CT is historically considered dogshit by everyone, and CS only fixed some of the issues. CPE and CF are considered the best in terms of gameplay, though both have balance issues people complained about while they were around. For CPE it's just every character being really weak except the top 3, in CF it's the top-tiers being too strong rather than the mid-tiers being too weak. Personally I think CF is easily the most refined in terms of gameplay, just a shame that some characters benefit from OD way too heavily.

I can't really defend CT's balance but I'll admit I had a lot of fun with the story mode. It didn't make any sense, but the way it was structured made it seem like if you kept going you would get a huge payoff and finally understand everything. Each arcade run and story ending made it feel like another layer of the mystery was being chipped away, and you were getting closer.

And then the ending is just "nah fuck you buy the sequel if you wanna kill fedora man".

Susan actually has a good OD though, he benefits off it really heavily since an early OD combo lets him get a bunch of unlocks and actual solid damage. Characters like Bullet and Kagura get very little off their respective OD.
The game is still pretty balanced in that all high-tiers and many mid-tiers actually can compete because they have crazy tools, but the issues stand out more in BB than say GG. In GG, the games have had a large part of the cast be viable, and the franchise has been going on for really long. Because of that, you get people like FAB who can make even the weakest characters look good.
In BB, every character bounced around the tier list throughout each installment like rubber balls, so all the top players are so used to switching to whoever is strongest. Tsubaki, Amane, Mu, Litchi ect. aren't that much worse than the top-tiers and definitely still competitive, but the top players have no reason to use them because there's no character loyalty, and instead use one of the top 6.

Honestly, most of it is just habit. Getting used to a charge character means planning everything in advance, and you need to stop being afraid of stopping your charges to shift to another.

One thing I really didn't like about charges at first was how long it takes to do a charge correctly, it might not even be the case but it really felt like it was taking too long to charge a move on my first few tries, even when I was buffering.

Vatista is a bit harder to use than others, since you have to hold 3 really often, but with the long normals in UNIEL, it can be pretty risky. Often times you'll find yourself wanting to keep on charging that 6~4, but have it be a better idea to just switch to 1 and do 4~6. Also at close range, 6~4B can actually be a better option, since many normals and stuff the opponent tries to throw out will get stuffed, and they'll get hit if they try to jump. Get used to her blockstrings and remember to use 6~4C to make stuff safe. She doesn't need to use meter on much since her damage is already high, so spending it on 6~4C is almost always the best choice. Get used to doing instant 8~2Bs as well, the animation is VERY ambiguous and super fast which makes it a really good mixup, though it's unsafe on block, meaning you still have to condition your opponent with 8~2A.
One fun trick you can do is bait DPs by jumping or assaulting forward and then doing AB, since it has a little hop backwards. It's not super useful, but I love doing it, and you can get a full 8~2B punish off it since you'll be holding up the entire time.

Well he ate Orie's parents, so I don't think he's going to get sympathy from most people just for that. He even tries to put up a decent argument when Linne confronts him in her story, pretty much saying she'd be a hypocrite for killing him just because he's a Void. You're going to have to learn that, and honestly it's stupidly hard to do, even moreso when you incorporate it into your pressure and it becomes alot more "free", since you can pretty much cancel anything to it.
