Kid Goku is the most worthy "secondary" slot for a character more than even Kid Buu/Super Buu is to Fat Buu. He plays so radically different from Goku and would be one of the most unique characters in the game if he gets in. He has a more distinct fighting style to Goku than the other Saiyans and Cell do.

Hit can do more than just stop time.
His techniques focus on killing the opponent, he can strike through their heart and kill them by stopping it, become intangible, move from one place to another instantaneously, and skip time (which is explicitly not stopping time, at least not until he further developed it) not to mention that using his time skip/time stop he can "store time" and create parallel universes or pocket dimensions which allows his other attacks to work. It's management system and it works well for a fighting game, better than anything Ginyu has.

ArcSys won't have to do extra model work for the rest of the Ginyu Force that way.

"Green Supreme Kai" fights with swords and purposefully redirects attack so that he can strike people in the back, which is not how Shin fights, and would make him a counter character, like Hakumen.

Turles 2.0 also fights completely different from Goku (or Turles for that matter) and uses a sword that can create explosive needles in an opponent, often attacks with ki blasts within melee range and similar, he also looks better than Turles.

We don't know anything about Jiren so I can't say much.

Merged Zamasu is a definite zoner, between him being able to stick exploding shit into the ground, fire lightning across the screen or using his Holy Wrath to push the opponent around. He can also grapple and throw the opponent across the screen , stunning them by breaking their bones (since he did that) or use portals to knock them around in a combo.

Hit can strike instantaneously without any real warning which would make him unpredictable to fight, he can move instantaneously too and his stronger attacks would be able to kill or paralyze you via pressure point attacks, you can draw fucking hundreds of moves out of that.

Normal Zamasu is a counter character, like Hakumen except he wouldn't be as slow as Hakumen, and probably be more rushdown-y

Beerus can straight up negate energy attacks, stick people in hakai energy which can then blow up and send people flying, he can also fight a lot like Slayer since power levels are apparently going to play balance.

Black can use his scythe to cut holes in fucking reality and would be a very close range fighter and he could also stack those needles via divine lasso on people and send them flying various distances and for various amounts of damage, since he can draw on both Zamasu and Goku, it works well, same goes for Merged Zamasu btw.

Hit could actually be a character that relies heavily on tempo. In GG Xrd, you can have combos that, if you mistime or use a different move, lead to the opponent being able to tech, but if they don't you can keep comboing.
Hit could not be able to do that, having powerful and fast moves at a cost of only being able to do untechable combos that are hard to string because of the frames required.

Maybe Broly and Bardock but considering the history of the previous DB games the devs have worked on for handheld Ginyu will almost certainly be in, Goku Black/Zamasu are huge right now so they have a very sure spot and Hercule has a legacy of being a slot in these games. Tien is the least likely of the ones I mentioned as much as I would like him in terms of popularity.

Golden Frieza will just be a transformation move for Frieza in this game. Realistically Super Saiyan Blue would be the same for Goku and Vegeta but from the looks of their movesets it's not as of now at least.

So how hard will this game be?

I've always tried to git gud at fighters but due to lack of time i always fall short. I have been playing GG xrd since the first iteration but i never got gud at it due to the huge amount of character specific stuff and mechanics the game has. The only game i was ever able to play decently, or at least fully understand what is going on on the screen was USF4 and only because i had a lot of time to kill and learn the game. I also played a bit of SF3 and some marvel titles but i was never decent at those.

I dislike the fact that Golden Freeza is in a game where Kid Gohan also exists instead of Ultimate Gohan. I really don't like how they are preying so much on nostalgia at the cost of adding chronological nonsense. Gotenks could've filled the spot of a tiny character. But even worse would be to have 2 fucking Gohans in the game... So I hope Ultimate Gohan stays the fuck away from this game now.

I started with SF4 as well, though from vanilla so, more years to get into other fighters and their mindset.

First impressions of the game show me its generally on the easy side. Easy execution on specials and air combos, dedicated homing air dash button, burst mechanic to get you out of bad situations etc. Again, first impression, too early to know. The assist system looks like it'll add some much needed variety on how each player wants to play and depth as well.

Replace 19 with 16 and somehow get Beerus in there, probably by replacing either Dabura or Janemba, and the list is damn near perfect. I understand your reasonings but it would just make sense to have show characters over movie ones in most circumstances.

In regards to Launch, what if it was like a Hakan style of fighter? Hakan is really strong when he's oiled up, but really weak when dry. You have to do something while in a safe spot to be yellow hair, and when the timer runs out you are blue hair. High risk, high reward. Only issue is that with homing tackle and prevalence of projectiles it might be difficult to do.
