The most fun Mystic Knight build is physical-focused with blocking and Abyssal Anguish, you only really NEED magick if you're going to be slapping balls on your Great Cannon all day.
The magick bonus on your shield is good enough if you make sure to keep up with new shields or upgrades.

I recommend Abyssal Anguish, an elemental Trance of your choice and a shield enchantment of your choice.

The worst thing about Dragon's Dogma is linear weapon progression, sure it branches in a couple places with elemental weapons but for the most part if you want the best sword you're equipping that stupid edgy looking devil rapier

It's an open world d&dish game with really decent combat and the ability to create your own personal battle waifu that follows you around and calls you master. Then you hire other waifus and husbandos and go fight ogres that are trying to rape your females (unless they're elder ogres of course, they prefer men) and wrestle chimeras and dragons in the dark. There's a lot of exploration and the story is decent and has a neat twist. It's got a few flaws. A good 80% of complaints are taken care of by paying just a little attention to things called pawns and how they work. If that sounds good to you, go for it

This is true, although it's really only in BBI 2.0 and farming it quickly that you absolutely need level 3 BBI weapons. Level 2s have some great designs and get the job done, and in gransys literally anything goes past lvl 40.

Stats don't matter. The only way they'd really impact you is if you purposefully fucked yourself over by maxing out magic and then swapping to warrior or something and even then it wouldn't be that big a deal.

The only thing you need is Aerial Rapture and your perfect parry of choice. Stone forest or the big holy blast are fun and cool to use but not very practical and the cannon skill is for pussy bitches who hate fun. Also MK can actually stack weapon buffs like crazy. ele buff from an ally plus your special ele trance buff (stronger and applies to everyone on the team but shorter duration) PLUS abyssal anguish which adds damage AND increases your weapon hurtbox like fucking crazy letting you hit things a shitload of times in one swing.

But really Just kinda play around with the skills to find what you like using. MK is a solid fucking class, so all their skills just kinda let you do fun shit, unlike most of the other classes where you basically build towards relying on one or two skills to just do everything for you.

I'm a good 10 hours into my first game right now and I made a loli mage. All she ever does is enchant my weapons then fucks off and gets lost. I can count the amount of times I've seen her cast offensive fireballs on one hand in the entire 10 hours so far.

They learn from what you're doing. If you tell them to help you they'll enchant your weapons or heal. Also if you're the same class as them they'll pick up your behavior more closely, down to what spells to use when and on what.

You have to train your pawns to do stuff and/or have them get hired by other arisens so they can learn stuff off of them and other pawns. Especially with sorcerer pawns, they're only going to maximize their potential if you teach them yourself how to not be skittish while they're casting and enemies are bearing down on them, chain casting, using the right spells on the right enemies and in the right situations, etc. Making sure their inclinations are good helps a lot too.

Play whatever you like, try out different classes. You get extra (often very strong) augments for doing so, which you can use with the other classes. That's the devs actively encouraging to switch out as much as you want.
