I'm thinking about subnautica but base building/survival games aren't really my main thing. I don't like minecraft or terraria but I enjoy the survival aspects of stalker.

How do you spend most of your time in subnautica? Scrounging for shit to not starve to death or is the bulk of it exploration for something else? I understand you're trying to repair a spaceship or make a beacon so people can come get you or something? Is that the main focus or will be spending most of my time finding edible crap and fresh water?

It's got nothing to do with adventure games, about the only good thing to be said of it is that the environments can be pretty. The premise of the story is interesting but they do absolutely nothing with it, combat is bamham but poorly implemented, and the rest is holding forward to get through the linear levels.

It's a SM64 style platformer. It has a triple jump and a belly slide and is generally pretty good. However it is quite apparent very quickly that the medallion count is full of padding. There are only 4 main worlds with 7 medallions (including the 100 coin star) each so you have to collect a bunch of shit like fossils and locations and golden gears. The music is great though and flying around the hub world is amazing.

It's a very very barebones and old school PnC. The story has a nice twist but that's about it.
The dialogue is very stilted (though not too apparent as everyone speaks in a weird British accent).
I beat this a few weeks ago. I'm playing Black Mirror II right now and it's kinda meh as well SO FAR (the dialogue is worse because there's American speech, the first two Chapters of the game have you playing errand boy and witnessing a sappy daytime soap-type plot). However I'm in Chapter III now and things seem to be starting to pick up. The one thing BM II does great though are the modern adventure game conveniences, I can fast travel everywhere and zip through the boring segments quite quickly.

So in short, only the first Black Mirror unless you REALLY REALLY want to play a subpar adventure series.

I'd recommend The Lost Crown over Black Mirror if you haven't played it yet. It's not remotely scary, but is a better game over all.

I think it's definitely worthwhile, Mordheim has an injury system too that generally either trashes a character (like a high strength heavy weapon dude losing an arm) or just provides niggling issues you have to deal with, and deciding whether to keep using a guy after an injury can be an interesting choice.

The difficulty can be real steep though, learn how the AI works and don't be afraid to take advantage of its flaws. Take it slow and keep a formation that works, rather than overstretch and have the AI just read your charge zones and waltz on through into your back line.

Both are Lovecraftian in theme.
Darkest Dungeon is risk management. You juggle your money between buying resources for explorations, upgrades and curing your party members. Your objective is to clear all the bosses and try not to get too attached to your party.
Sunless Sea is like reading a novel where chapters are locked behind mission objectives. There's resource management for your journeys as well. You also must try not to get attached to your captain.

Both are Lovecraftian and involve resource management. As for the DLC, I recommend finishing vanilla first. If you want more then go for it. Personally, I'd wait for Darkest Dungeon's DLC to go on sale.
