Nope, there's no health, you only get stunned temporarily or get a form change that resets your progress.

The only thing that can kill you and leads to a game over is the final boss.

This only ever applies to the final boss, where if you get hit 3 times you get smacked out of the fight and you have to start over.

Other than that, you only ever get impeded by enemies that transform you otherwise, like having to climb a slope while avoiding an enemy that turns you into a ball, or trying to dive down without getting caught in bubbles
