It depends on what server you're on.
If you're on a congested server then you're not going to make a lot of money gathering because of the amount of undercutting that happens and how it kills an item's value.
If you're on a normal sized server like Ultros or Sargatanas then gathering is the thing to do.
If you're on Gilgamesh or Balmung then crafting is the way to go.
If you're on a preferred server then you might as well say fuck it because people aren't rich enough to buy materials that are worth harvesting let along high end crafted goods.

Othard is pretty but it drags on for so fucking long, it takes forever for the plot to get moving. The entire 62-67 plotline is just preparation for invading Doma castle. Find Yugiri and Gosetsu. Find Hien. Spend a week placating these retarded lizards so they'll help. Then Doma castle is a 20 minute dungeon and then that's it, Doma is free, mission complete. It has basically no relevance to the Ala Mhigo campaign at all and feels like a tacked-on sideplot.

There's virtually no middle ground, either it's secular tryhard groups that like to run shit for hours, dedicate their life to this game and live for fflogs, or it's mouthbreathing frogs, russkie and other subhumans who couldn't dodge a red marker if their life depended on it.

Other options are NA and JP but in one case I'd have to deal with terrible connection (thanks Yoshida, good server move, well done) and in other with moderate language barrier and learning different strats and conventions for things.

Stormblood really feels like Squeenix had concepts for 2 expansions/major sets of content (Liberation of Ala Mhigo and Liberation of Doma) and just decided to smash the two together into a single expansion launch. I mean I GUESS the idea of fostering resistance forces on two opposing fronts would weaken the Garlean's capabilities to fight them off (which if I remember right is part of the excuse of going to Othard in the first place), but that never happens because Zenos and his legion never even really try in the first place. They give up tons of ground with no real fighting, you end up liberating a couple towns and bases and suddenly both Ala Mhigo and Doma are free.

Like, okay, I get that you can't really get a full sense of scale in an MMO because designing a full sized world is completely unfeasible, but it feels like you at best liberated a couple of lightly populated midwestern US towns or something.

Y'shtola and the twins will never die because they're part of major raid sidequests. (Shtola in Alexander and the twins in Bahamut)

They never kill off MSQ characters that appear outside of the MSQ because the narrative is the most important thing in this game and it would "Break immersion" if you went and did those raid quests after said characters died.
And it's easier to just keep them alive and relevant than go back and alter old quests to accommodate for someone potentially being dead.

You should honestly be using Blood Weapon on CD regardless of whether you're MTing or OTing. Unless you're learning a fight, in which case it's okay to be in Grit because you don't know the fight yet.
Darkside is more than just for burst phases, it's a big general DPS increase and helps conserve TP. I'm mentioning TP specifically because back at launch, DRK had massive TP issues during extended fights when tanking outside of Grit. Back in 3.0, Blood Weapon used to only generate MP and grant haste, but it was soon changed to reduce TP cost on top of the other effects.

How the fuck do I do damage anymore as a Summoner? I was frequently top of the group in HW, and now I'm frequently third or fourth place and 200-300 DPS behind the next spot up. The highest I can get over the course of 5 minutes on a dummy is ~3750. I'm 309 with almost all Crit V and Spell Speed V melds.

I am having a crises of what class I want to play. I mained healer since 2.4. And I just don't get any enjoymet of it anymore. I tried rdm, but I'm not a particular good dps, as maximizing damage, do mechanics over long periods of time is draining, and I fuck up.
I am a bit tempted to try out Pld, as I had that as my tanking class for dungeons and such, but no point in bringing one to HW stuff as it was unpopular.

But, I've never really tanked any EX or Savage (haven't done much of it anyway). There are very few guides for stuff like that.
How do I get good at tanking, being kicked out of PF for when I'm learning dosn't sound that fun.

Not at their level. 65 nodes require level 61 and 70 nodes require level 66, but yeah there are no restrictions other than that.

The whole Lyse thing was so fucking dumb. If Yda wasn't really Yda even as far back as 1.0, why even do this reveal in the first place? It meant absolutely nothing to the player, and during the cutscene, Y'shtola and Alphinaud are like, "Oh, yeah, we already knew that, so we don't care either." The complete change in character between the old Yda and Lyse was simply explained by her pretending to be her dead sister. WHAT?

At the end of 3.0, Papalymo suddeny could not wait to kill himself so this renamed Yda could have the spotlight in 4.0. I love this game but the retconning in the story is really stupid sometimes. The bullshit with throwing Nidhogg's Eyes in the Sea of Clouds was retarded too.

You still get plenty from Delirium and unbuffed C&S, and if you run out you can just do 1 syphon strike combo in Grit and you're good to go. Not in grit? Just use Blood Weapon and then hit Quietus for fucking huge MP. Not to mention Salted Earth and all the times you'll hit Quietus just from blood built naturally. DRK is still by far the strongest AoE tank.

Use them except for L70 full party onces, it might make sense to hold on to as many of them as possible (I believe they're still unique but you can list them at 999 999 999 gil for now) until they release Aquapolis 2 on 18th of July
