I'm just worried it'll be too simple. Exploring plus sRPG tends to mean the battles are shorter, which means simpler battles, which means they get old a lot faster. I'm just wondering if they should've just made an actual employable world and ditch the SRPG aspect, or keep the aspect and make it a series of maps with deeper mechanics instead of a mixture of the two.

So that it would be Mario getting into a new type of game. This happened before as well. A while back, Square approached Nintendo with wanting to make a RPG game with Mario in it, and Nintendo was open to doing so, and thus Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven Stars was made. Which gave birth to multiple Mario RPG series being created. In a way, this could give birth to its own Mario SRPG series, with the rabbids roles being changed even more into being target fodder.
