Just imagine if, to speed things up, we had the Summer Swimsuit event right now. As in, they started it up, and wanted you to spend quartz to get those rare servants. Most people would likely just up and quit, because there is no way they could stockpile or purchase enough quartz to even have a reasonable chance at anything. Sure, there might be a few whales who would go all out, but most people would just drop it (or refuse to participate) and the player base would immediately die off.

The whole gacha thing works when there is a desire to just spend a little bit. Sure, $10 might not mean anything, but if you want to try just one more roll, the game can convince you into doing it. But that only works if the person had a shot in the first place. If I blow 200 quartz hunting down a Summer Tamamo or Summer Maria, then I might consider spending that $10 or $15 for another 10-roll. If I just have ten quartz because the last event just happened, though, then I'm not even going to bother spending anything.

Last I remember, when two servants fight, you shouldnt be able to see them, like the Saber and Lancer duel in F/Z because they're moving at mach speed.

Curiously, the more accurate presentation of how it would turn when a human goes against someone who's almost as a fast and strong as a servant would be Tohno Shiki's fight with Kouma Kishima in Kagetso Tohya. The fucker was so fast and strong that every choice you made got a bad end where Shiki gets pulverized into a bloody pulp.

The only time I remember Shirou really fighting Servants and not just trying to stay alive was during the HF route after getting the arm replacement, and that made him closer to to a Servant's level from what I remember but it cost him his life doing it. Rin and Souichirou were being empowered by magic, but they were also trained martial artists, too, with Souichirou being many levels above Rin. Gacha works when you have 2 things combined, a goal, and stuff you want. As it is now the goal is ascending servants, this can last a few weeks at most. JP rushed out 2 nonsense mini-events just to try and fill this gap. NA doesn't need to do that. So far they've shoved 100 quartz at us. That's a decent amount of quartz. Coupled with all the event quartz and tickets that's actually not an unreasonable chance of getting shit, from that about 1/3 players should get the 5 star, you should get at least 1 of the 4 stars from that, and then have the welfare 4 star, which you conveniently ignored in your "analysis" you want it to go this way so you can stash a superabundance of quartz, NA players will want something new to do in 2 weeks time maximum. And nerofest and dango are both half arsed events and it shows.

Though yes she doesn't have quite the same draw right now because she hasn't been in the gacha yet.

Same here. I guess it's just the knowledge of how fucking rare 5*s are in this game. In order to get more 5*s I would either have to spend all the money I don't have or spend months hoarding quartz only to have a small chance at getting one.
