I don't use mods so I am neutral. I think I would try them out if you could have more than one applied at a time.

Is this game as grindy as titan quest was? That game was spamming three different skills and leveling up passives for 40 hours straight.

Depends on your definition of grindy. I only played through TQ once but it felt more grindy for sure. There are plenty of builds that have lots of passives vs. plenty of builds with lots of active skills so depends on what you play.
