6th gen had 4 different consoles, each with their own amazing libraries. lets not forget that handhelds really took off during 6th gen and PC gaming was massively improved during 6th gen too. SNES is worthless compared to 6th gen

It really was a good gen. It was cool to have friends with different consoles. I was glad to go play virtua fighter or panzer dragoon while my friends came to play Tekken or something.
The 4th was just too full of Nintendo superiority, in my opinion (not that the Genesis did not have a few gems)

PS2/DC/GC/XB was better

Both 4th & 6th gen aged better than 5th gen.
5th gen had rudimentary low poly 3D that looks like ass in today's age. PS1 games wobble, N64 games have shit textures, and Saturn games have a weird blockyness to them because their polygons are made with quadrilaterals instead of triangles. The only 5th gen games that aged particularly well are 2D games

I would define this as the Silver age

This is definitely the dark age. Early Access, DLC, outsourcing big series, casualisation, mainstream appeal.
