Imagine getting into some sort of freak accident and the only way for you to survive is for the doctors to take out each nerve entirely, along with the brain and eyes, and they rebuild you into the thing in ops pic. You're still alive but cannot use your nerves besides brain and eyes. Your family visits but crys everytime they see you, your crush/gf/bf/significant other come visit but they are frightened and break down into a mixture of crying and screaming, wondering if this is even real life. And all you can do is look around the room, you can't even go back to sleep or close your eyes, you're just stuck in this nervous system monsterous form until you die.

In terms of revenue Valve dwarfs pretty much everyone else. They're one of the most profitable businesses in the world. In terms of profit:employee ratio they very well may be THE most profitable company in the world. In terms of industry influence, they've basically been THE industry leader for over a decade.

Nintendo hasn't been relevant to the future of the industry since they bailed on progress in favor of gimmickry with the Wii and Iwatas 'blue ocean' madness. They're not going away any time soon, because they're basically part of the Japanese state, but they're also not going anywhere, generally.

If this means imposing Valve's development practices and philosophy on Nintendo, then this would be the worst possible thing that could happen to them at this time when they're just returning to the height of their form.

The actual Source source code is garbage compared to what Epic and Id produce and as a game dev company they haven't developed anything that isn't a heavily scripted linear FPS derivative and everything else they're produced is a mod of something developed by someone else. Their whole unstructured snowflake development model precludes them from creating something that is both as intricately structured and polished as Zelda.

We don't have access to their financial statements so we have no clue what they cleared in EOY 2016.

Nintendo had a revenue of 4.6 billion in 2016, i doubt valve had anything close to that amount.
