I will grant that Kat being the world's cutest hobo is part of the appeal, but it's far from the only appeal. Free-roaming with gravity powers just plain feels awesome. It conveys a sense of freedom and scale that I've never felt with another game before. And the Franco-Belgian comic aesthetic is the icing on the cake.

Infamous climbing is fun but it can't entertain you for ever as the buildings in 2 are smaller and 1 was a pain in the ass because you could get climbing was finicky and it took a while to get around. Power lines were fun but they're not that good for moving around. They're not everywhere and they don't always take you where you want to go. You can mess around with the new styles and improve powers in GR2, you'd know this if you played it. Wrong. Genderswap the entire cast and I'd probably end up liking it more. Beyond the shifting which is the main draw, people like the game and story because Kat is great way to do a superhero origin story; a genuinely likable character who is surrounded by a fun supporting cast.

The game felt a bit short, the plot is halfway resolved at the end and is pretty confusing to process at first. The artstyles switch per town along with the atmosphere and that really sets it for me.

Eh, to an extent but I think that oversimplifies it. I like GR, but the charming visuals and atmosphere carry more of the weight than it probably should. I certainly wouldn't like it as much if Kat weren't as inherently likable as a character moreso than her looks to be honest, and while I do commend the game for its free-form gravity approach as it's an interesting idea in regards to 3D space and exploration the games could do more with it than they do. So yeah, I don't think it's as simple as "you only buy it for the cute girls" but that's not too far off base either. I like the setting, music, and gameplay concept as much as I do Kat and Raven, even if the execution can be a little thin. At the end of the day though, Kat and Raven being as cute as they are certainly doesn't hurt.

Not really, and the addition of Treasure Hunts make it more fun. The only bad location was the slums, but even that was only around as bad as the industrial town from GR1.
Also the story is pretty much on the same level as before, except now it has an actual ending satisfying ending that doesn't leave you hanging out of nowhere like the first one. It was cheesy as hell but it was extremely enjoyable.
