How have quentin comics survived? The meme seems so tired.

I played it for the first time earlier this year, I didn't want to pay full price for a non-kojima metal gear title

it's an extremely entertaining game. not as difficult as I assumed it would be based on how people discussed it, even on the additional difficulties. Definitely a memorable game.

Troubled development. The reason the game went to Platinum was because KojiPro, at the time, couldn't get the mechanics they wanted working.

MGR was a kind of lightning in a bottle thing. Its development was super rushed, and had to have a ton of compromises, but it still worked out well.

No surprise that one was a modest success, while the other (again) failed to live up to the original trilogy.

Kojima's team only designed a couple of characters but otherwise they gave the creative freedom to Platinum since they couldn't get their gameplay vision to work.

Platinum didn't want to work in a strict story frame such as between MGS2 and 4, so they instead decided to make it post-MGS4 so they can go anywhere they want with the story.

Maybe Platinum sensed that the canon/story concerns might intrude into the rest of the game development. If it was set after everything else then that's a lot of pressure off their shoulders.

It's not even far-fetched when you consider how MGSV centred around explaining why you faced the main boss of a late-80s series twice. As if that needed to be justified or explained. MGS2's Raiden twist at least set-up a new character that had his own personality while also representing the player's feelings towards Snake. Venom Snake is empty.

I honestly would've preferred Metal Gear Solid: Rising to MGR:R, although after have beating MGR two days ago for the first time, I have to say it is one of the better Metal gear games.
