While PoR is very fun to play, HoD beat it in content, length and lore. PoR just doesn't compromise entirely to those aspects and prefers to be it's own thing (a side story during other Castlevania events and having an anime aesthetic) while trying to emulate the Castlevania feel with the occasional whip combat and traditional imagery.
DoS is just pure gameplay joy, far superior to PoR's gameplay, and it embraces it's ties to a main Castlevania game without deviating with much changes (except the anime style, which doesn't fit it one bit). Also, DoS music is superb, one of the best OSTs among the Metroidvanias.

PoR has 25 subweapons (plus Stonewall, Taunt, Defensive Form and Offensive Form), 42 spells, 10 Dual Crushes and some weapons that have especial moves with the forward + forward + attack command.

When I played SotN every boss was piss easy and thus no fun at all. With 2 randoms exception that were super hard.

If the bosses aren't fun to fight because they are this easy, that's half the game being shit right here.
