i still do many silly mistakes every single game, and still can't do aerials properly
the game is generally very skillful and the people who spent more than 500 hours playing it are god like and can't be beaten

That's a fucking lie and a half. There's a lot of skill in learning how to boost to get good aerial coverage and aiming once you're in the air. All of the ground game comes with playing, yes, but the more advanced stuff like mid-air redirection needs some practice.

Only thing you can genuinely not learn, is to turn off camera shake. Whoever reads this and has it on, go do yourself a favour.

Probably 90% ball cam, the rest (going for boost/having to get away fast, dribbling) not.

I mean, it's not unplayable, but a massive hindrance to get even just decent.

You have to remember that when you're platinum 1 you're still only in the best ca. 20% of the game (check at https://rocketleague.tracker.network/).
So the player pool below diamond is just huge and there's a big chance of getting all terrible enemies.

Also, having one/two really good and competent teammates also means you're going to be in less of a hassle and have less chances to fuck up.
