Magic the Gathering. I grew up with it and I've been playing it for like 16 years or so.

Shame there's no Legacy where I live (mostly draft, kitchen table and modern)
Most of the time I play on Xmage. I have a couple of friends who play Magic as well, but I feel kinda bad playing Parfait against them so I usually never do, despite the deck being fun as fuck (for me at least lol).

Hearthstone. All online CCGs are pretty much the same. Hearthstone is simple and fast enough to solve multiple problems in one sitting.

Still, arena is fucking shit in Hearthstone. Moreso than any other (which I guess conflicts with my "all the same" claim)

I used to play Hearthstone but now I've switched to Shadowverse. So far it's better in almost every way. Seriously, fuck the pay-to-have-fun rng shitfest that is Hearthstone.

I mean, I don't think actual constructed is that bad to get into, and the game is so fun that I could play like a hundred games with the same deck before really getting tired, it's just that it would really suck if I was a new player, put a lot of effort and love into the game and then had it shut down or die out on me (but the fate of the game is uncertain, it could very well survive for like two years more in a playable state for all we know). There's probably a bunch of lower tier budget decks you could make, maybe check out infinitydisciple on youtube, he made a bunch of videos to educate players I think.

But seriously, the highs you can get from this game are so fucking fun. If you haven't looked into it yet, you both plan your moves and have them be executed simultaneously, so it's like a really complex version of rock paper scissors. The feeling when choosing the correct blocking order with tens of minions in play and having his entire defensive line fall to a card that heals and grows bigger when killing shit so you end up with his empty board and a 40/40 monster on your side is supreme.

Shadowverse is pretty pay-to-have-fun once you get past brand new players. Most top-tier decks have a lot of 3500 vial cards in them (sword, shadow, and dragon especially).

Shadowverse absolutely is more fun though.

I can't get into games like Hearthstone and Shadowverse even though I really tried. I get they are designed to be played in short intervals unlike MtG where one game can run to 50 minutes, but even MTGO couldn't keep me interested.

Eternal definitely, although it's still in open beta. Set 2 coming in a few weeks. Made by the same guys that are making Legends. Draft mode is excellent.

I guess the one I'm playing the most now is the shardbound alpha since it's like duelyst before it fucked itself.

I really like eternal and am totally ready for set 2.

Elder scrolls is fun and I'll probably play it much more when it comes to iphone.

Hex is great and is probably my favorite mechanically but you have to pay money to be competitive and f2p content is very slow to come out.

I used to play a ton of hearthstone but I'm phasing that out. It's too bad they had to wait years to unfuck the packs.

Eternal strikes a pretty good balance between classic MtG and more modern CCG mechanics. Also the people who make it are cool guys.

yes it has vo now and rakanos isn't nearly as prevalent now. Eternal has my favorite economy so I'm glad it's finally getting a new set. That last preview event was fun as hell.

I've always wanted to get into Magic but the cost always scared me away, something like Eternal is absolutely perfect for me. I've been getting into Gwent since Hearthstone's last expansion created the stalest meta ever

It's pretty neat , though it's a little overwhelming with all it's mechanics, kind of reminds me of dota, fun game but steep learning curve.

Though once you get familiar with what the different decks do, it's pretty interesting how some cards interact with each other. I'd recommend it.
