Trails in the Sky
It's the slowest slow burn game I've ever played. The first game is full of charm but it takes the whole first game to get really interesting and it was only after I beat it that I fell in love with it, and it was a 40 hour game I practically forced myself to play after other people told me how good it was if you beat it. They were right and I'm glad I stuck it out, but most people don't have that autistic level of patience.

The controls are a bit archaic and the grafics weren't the best even back then. Magic and combat system needs a bit getting used to. Also because of that one faggot that shills the second game here every day.

Mega Man Legends/64 is awesome. The combat is surprisingly good for a 3D game of its time, The dungeons have a cool sense of isolation and dread, there are tons of sidequests and an optional interconnected labyrinthine ruins beneath the island with tons of stuff to find. The artstyle is great and the characters are charming, and the setting is maximum comfy yet has an air of mystery and intrigue that deepens as you progress, with many details left up in the air in a compelling manner.

But you'll just bitch about the controls (which aren't even that bad), so don't bother.

I love Castle in the Darkness, the controls are great, most of the enemies are great, when you die it's usually your own fault etc.
The save points are terribly spaced to the point of being unfair.
