I remember after seeing the commercial for this game I begged and begged my mom to get it for me. She actually did because we were going on a long vacation trip and so I had something to do.

I don't remember much of it besides that it was a pretty basic sidescroller and that I wasn't able to get very far in it. It was tough.

It definitely wasn't the best vidya I had to waste my yearly beg-mom-to-buy-me-game on but I got some good mileage out of it.

This godawful port of FF4. Bugs everywhere, character turns literally stolen by enemies due to a really shitty ATB bug, framedrops, reusing the same shit English font that was in Dawn of Souls, washed out palettes making everything look like garbage, and an even shittier re-translation to boot. As far as terrible GBA ports go, it's right up there with Sonic Genesis.

Fun fact about this game, it was actually one of the last games I played before I had a mental breakdown.

I have awful dibilitating obsessive compulsive disorder, to the point that I'm disabled right. Nowadays I actually handled it relatively well cause I went to therapy and stuff and have lived with it for like for most of my life now. It showed it's head when I was a teen and I just was having issues around the time I just happened to be playing that game. I don't remember it being very good anyway.

I later managed to power through all of this dogshit in my head and beat Super Mario Sunshine tho.

PAL bros need to remember that we didn't even get ffIV until the anthology on the ps1 and the loading was ridiculous, GBA version was the first viable option.

I had a SNES but I didn't really know about FF until late PS1/early PS2 days. The only reason I got a PS1 was for Megaman originally.

And yeah sound on GBA isnt great for ports in general but I wasn't a nit picky teenager so I didn't really care. I enjoyed them
