You can shoot 10 arrows without pumping, the aiming works flawless on mid range (which is all you need considering 90% of the game is claustrophobic tunnels).
The ball gun is trash in comparison, you barely find ammo for it on ranger hardcore since 1 mag = 1 ball and they are rare as is.
Picking up the arrows is a godsent.
