Just think about it. This whole "edgy piano music with quiet vocals" thing started with Gears of War. A game from fucking 2006. We've been having the same ad bullshit for over a decade now.

And of course, if it's not that, it's usually a more dramatic version of an incredibly overrated song. Battlefield once using "Seven Nation Army" comes to mind as one of the most recent notable offenders.
