Only games I can compare it to that came out even somewhat recently is Black Flag, BotW, and Xenoblade Chronicles X. I loved Black Flag (because pirate ship) and XCX (had a blast exploring that world). Was disappointed by BotW. That said, all 3 of those games are better than FFXV. It is literally the only game I've just straight up deleted off my console (I resold FFXII, and never played XIII). Can't resell it because it was a digital purchase, and refuse to let it eat up space on my hard drive. It's that bad.

Think of a middling AARPG from the PS2, and I'd rather play that than FFXV.
