i used to always disable depth of field for more fps (or so I thought) but then i realized I dont give two shits about crisp shadows so I started putting them on medium.

Frames aplenty.

I still disable bloom though.

Not really, i haven't noticed any real impact reflections have on FPS in most vidya games, its shadows that fuck my FPS up most of the time, just from recent memory i played nu-DOOM and reflection settings had no difference on performance, shadows had a bit of an impact while the biggest was resolution seconded by anti-aliasing

I wish more games had a slider for film grain intensity. When it's just a toggle for "On/Off", the effect tends to be a bit extreme.

Depth of field only works if you've got a really robust system for focusing on what the player actually wants to look at.

Also doing things the eye does on it's own in first person on screen is a great way to make people feel sick and cause eye strain.

Maybe it's ok "cinematic" games, but cinematic games can fuck off.
