You see, little babylegs, back in the olden days of Half Life modding, the group that would later be known as Streumon put together a nifty mod called Syndicate Black Ops. It shares a great deal of its backstory with EYE, and could be considered a prequel. The result was a beautiful combination of what could be considered the prototypes for EYE's weapons (with the 2nd best sawn off shotgun in all vidya), sadistic level design choices, and aimbot AI that could headshot you with only a pixel of visibility. There was also about the same degree of co-op and battle royale functionality (with another bounty hunter mode that really should have been in EYE) so you'd have a dozen guys running around screaming about gwenades while throwing exploding pitbulls about.
Give it a try, it's probably the best HL mod made on drugs out there.

Those focused beam laser guns, more melee weapons, clean up how cycling weapons work so I don't have to cycle through my regular sword, my pistol, and then my sword + pistol. More powers, some weirder weapons like a glaive or chakram thing so I can get boomerang action in here, because ammo is for dorks.

a crossbow would be cool too, and maybe more mobility tools, I love cyber legs but it'd be cool to hookshot up to places so I can smash those faggot snipers in the face with my hammer.

I find it so disheartening that this game locks away it's intended gameplay behind an infinite wall of grind. Once you get past that, it actually feels like EYE. Till then, it feels like a shitty FPS trying to be an even shittier MMORPG.

In all good conscience, I can't recommend this game to anyone simply because of that. If they're willing to save edit, maybe it's worth it.

I wish the game was remade by someone who can code for shit and actually implement things like enemy placement and some enemy variety and level/mission design that makes more sense. You can't just overlook glaring issues like these and then just write a story around it and say it's the deepest lore.
