This game has a soft spot in my heart. It was my first and I loved the story so much. I beat it probably like 15 times now. It's not the best combat wise but every FF has their pros and cons.

It's a pretty solid game and definitely one of the better FF titles if only because it doesn't do anything obviously bad outside of the final boss theme. Anyone who outright "hates" it is just being a tryhard hipster.

Some tiles are definitely divisive, mostly VIII and the earlier titles, but none of them are bad games to anyone who's played more than a dozen JRPGs.

It broke the structure of previous FF games so many got butthurt because they simply wanted more of the same.

I liked the voice acting in FFX. You have to realize it was the early 2000's too. I think Most of the main characters and villains had good voices. My favorite is Aurons. It fit so well

Beyond Yuna's somewhat stilted delivery, the voices were fine. It was the first FF to have voicing, perhaps some fault lay with the director and Yuna's actress being an inexperienced VA. She improved for the sequel.

The crazy thing is they still do this at Square NA. They're full of retards. FF15 lines were all recorded separately. And this is coming from a big defender of FF10 voice actors. I honestly thought none of them were bad, there's just a few moments where they sounded bad. Just a few moments though, not overall like a lot of retards say.

It's indicative of how voice-acting is seen in NA. It's cheaper to bring in everyone separately, and who cares if the quality suffers? It's possible that a lot of english voice-actors also consider it to be unglamorous, and not worthy of the respect they'd have for on-camera acting
