There's also the stupid aesops. Like Meg tearing into the family after several seasons of abuse, only for everyone to turn on eachother. Meg ended up apologizing and taking it all back because she's the "lightning rod" for the dysfunctional problems of the family and thus has to sit there and take it or everything would fall apart. Lois' brother suddenly disappears after everything's resolved as he escaped before anyone could do shit about him, and hasn't been seen since.

I hate myself for knowing this much about a Family Guy episode past the first few seasons.

Family Guy was only good for the first fucking four seasons, give or take. After that, it went from

The original story outline has actually been leaked, and originally the spirit bending bit was even more of an asspull.
