That's not an excuse to do such a thing, Nintendo are not children they should now much much better, they already copied a lot of ideas from many other open world games why not do the same with the rest of the game such as with DLCs?

My biggest beef with the DLC is that it introduces several QoL and extra options (like Hard Mode) that some feel should have been in the game in the first place, but they didn't fix ANYTHING about letting you change the controls some more. I'm so fucking sick of using claw grip because game developers still think it's a good idea to make a face button your sprint, especially when you frequently need to sprint and either jump and/or move the camera at the same time.

I'm worried that it's just going to be a new divine beast + accompanying story, because the story and divine beasts are honestly low points in the game. Probably some of the lamest dungeons in series history and I just really couldn't care less about what's happened story-wise so far

What I'd like to see is some new land and a dungeon within it that's more like previous dungeons (thematic, unique, decent length). If they add that much I'd be satisfied regardless of what they do with the story, but I don't want to get my expectations up either..

Well I have 100 hours on my first playthrough, and the new hard mode gives me a good enough reason to do another run. It was only the first of two DLC so everything released on friday is technically half the price.

I like the hero's path mode, because it tells me where I haven't gone yet, although that should've been free frankly. Haven't looked for the armors yet. In fact, every armor in the game should have been a quest or just find-able item. Just knowing where the shop is, grinding ore for money to buy them is less satisfying.

Master trials is pretty fun.

I know that the game I'm about to mention was kind of lacking in enemy types too, but not as bad as BOTW.

Anwyas, doing something akin to what Dragon's Dogma did with the post game versions of enemies would have been a good way to make alt-enemies. Hellhounds are an excellent alt-type for wolves. They even have their own unique features and attacks. Like how they shoot fireballs instead of just biting and if you get knocked down they carry you away from your friends to eat you. And if you happen to touch them with something fire element they go super saiyan and tear shit up.

Also the Succubus added a couple of interesting mechanics and Bitterblack Isle did a decent job on some of their alt versions of stuff. Again, still mostly lazy (especially by today's standards) but some of those ideas could have carried over to BOTW's like 5 fucking enemy types.

The only thing I can think of is that you're supposed to go find the new armor after restarting the game in hard mode, which is an entirely separate thing I'm not too pleased with. I love this game and put around 200 hours into it, but I don't want to put another 200 hours into it again so soon just for a golden lynel.

Breath of the Wild is one of my absolute favorite games, but aside from the Trial of the Sword, this first pack is a solid "meh." I've got pretty high hopes for the second pack, though.

I'm pretty sure the story dlc will be a short experience, not worth of 20 dollars/euros. Cutting down a mode and some challenges and stitching everything togheter, not allowing their clients to buy the single packs, nintendo maximazed their potential income.
This level of jewery surpass even EA's one.
