The voice actors usually become just slightly famous enough that they can make money through donations of fans and other projects, like how Matt Mercer is now making bank of his D&D session with friends.

Meanwhile, the companies who push out games just hire from the pool of small fries not associated with the strike.

Honestly, the only thing that ever comes out of these is the fans losing out on old character voices returning.
