Had it since I was a kid. I haven't played a modern Sonic game since Heroes(which I hated). I bought Sonic 06 just to see what was up, got it for $1.00 played it once and tossed that shit in the trash. Didn't play it much so that's why I consider Heroes the last I played. A friend also lent me Shadow and forgot he did, called him and told him I had it and come get it, he claimed he never owned it and I ended up trashing that too. Plus modern Sonic games are too damn corny and weird. I hate the voice acting, Sonic Team is shit at animation and the mouths don't match up. And the plots always edge on cringy fan fiction.

And I don't like the boost to win games either, but I'll probably pick up Mania.

How the fuck would that happen? I knew I was safe being a Mario fan as a kid, because Sega was just fucking weird period. Ever listen to their games soundtracks in the 90s? Some really weird esoteric type shit, they were really ahead of their time and were pretty much the most interesting company in gaming in the 90s. Sega wasb't afraid to get really psychedelic with their shit. I liked them but the always seemed enigmatic to me, way more than Nintendo who's just mum and private. Sega was the last trulg weird major console manufacture. I wonder what their image would be today if they had stayed in the console business. Would they have cleaned up and gone straight businessman like Sony, Xbox, and Nintendo, or find some modern weirdness.

They are pretty much the reason I like electronic music, but as said their games were weird to me even 2D Sonics had some elements I just found of. I mean in one of the original Sonic games (thinking the first) the special stage music was some creepy shit.

Glad Nintendo never gave Mario a speaking role in the games.
