The intricacies of the system are unknown to prevent minmaxing.
The basic mechanics are as follows:
LIFES determines life. Each point in LIFES is like 150 health, I think.
Health is displayed in vague terms, such as "no worries" or "oh shit" rather than numbers.
MUSCLE determines how much damage is done by a vermin's melee attacks.
BLAST determines how much damage is done by a vermin's blast attacks. Blast attacks are less frequent than melee attacks, but pierce guard.
GUARD acts as defense, reducing damage from melee attacks.
FAST affects how frequently the vermin attacks.
Crits are a thing. Not sure how they work.

There are no rules however this is more or less how the stats work.

Lifes: HP
Muscle: regular attack power
Blast: less likely to happen but it seems to pierce guard
Guard: resistance against muscle attacks
Fast: attack speed

The host can use the stats in any was tho.

So as for example if you wanna make a weird vermin chess game you can use fast as the tiles the vermin can move instead of the attack speed and blast can be just a long ranged attack that is just as common as muscle, the host can decide how the stats work.

Not really.

>Second fight you have stats like you have an ability but you kinda don't
>Only in the thrid fight you're finally on equal ground

So basically you have to win 3 fights while you're either underpowered or equal before you can actually gain the advantage of of your ability.
If we follow the usual 4 rounds tournamet we have then you need to get to the fucking FINALS being underpowered to finally gain advantage, and that's asuming you won't have to fight an enemy with no ability.

I would actually say it's pretty underpowered if it's 1vs1, on 2vs2 it would be kinda OP but nothing really that terrible, on 3vs3 and more it would be OP as fuck.
