I think it might be because people didn't know you could bypass the Quest when trying to track down Benny by going into Manny's room in Novac and reading his email from the Khans. So it became an obstacle on the road to Vegas on new playthroughs.

You can do the same in any other Fallout idiot, for example when 3Dog sends you to recover the satelite, you can just A) shoot him B) keep savescumming till you pass the % speech check

It's too much fun for fallout New Vegas. 3 and 4 embrace the strange side of sci if pulp novels from half a century ago whereas new Vegas only has two or three moments or characters/moments that meet this livel of wacky.

You really get played for a chump if you do what everyone says. Especially since Benny is obviously from New Vegas and the probably where he went. Hell, the bartender in Goodsprings tells you they want to head north but have to loop around. The only downside is that you can miss out on a lot of exp and worldbuilding if you think for yourself instead of following the quest markers, but I guess you can always backtrack later. I'm not sure if that's good game design or not

Everyone in Goodsprings is an idiot. "Lets live in a town with no defenses 100 feet from deathclaws." But at least they have pistols and BB guns to defend themselves.

At least primm and Novac have some amount of defense.

Idk old world blues was pretty damn silly. I personally liked it.
I played through lonesome road blacked out and cant do it again. Is there any ways to reset the quest via console commands or something? I'm level 50 and don't wanna start from scratch. Nor do I want to artificially level up again via the console, it takes too long. Any suggestions?

This is what I hate the most about it, the backtracking. Other than that I love it, especially for Energy builds. Literally rolling in fully repaired Laser and Plasma Rifles, and MFC cells.

No 3 and 4 fucking bathe in it until it becomes an irritating mess of horrible design and world building, and then it goes in for another dip every time you tell it to knock it the fuck off. I'd rather have a few poorly done pop culture references than an entire game built around poorly dine pop culture references.
