The story in this xpac was hot garbage though. Sick of seeing reviews saying it had a good narrative. Why? Because it had women present? Lyse alone brings down most of the solid women by herself. It makes me mad there is a decent amount of people going "the story was really good!" Also because there was subtle buildup for years to liberate Ala Mhigo it gets a pass.

HW was great in that the patches prior to it, it brought the heat and set the stage for HW really well. The build-up to SB was WoD and wrapping up where the Scions. Both were well done but didn't do fuck all to push into SB outside the very last patch.

Just because the Doma arc was decent doesn't save the mess that is Lyse/ALA MHIGO. I really wish they made two pacs out of these instead of lumping both together.

I think leveling is better than HW. The dungeons in HW were so fucking boring right out of the box it and was a chore to do anything.

This is just my perspective as a WAR main, I don't think we're in that terrible of a position, I'd say we're definitely still going to be viable for pretty much everything in the game, that goes for all tanks, it's just that a lot of these changes don't make sense or feel poorly thought out and they make the job a lot less fun to play.

Same can be said for my friend who plays scholar, he can't do as much damage, his healing took a huge hit, he's forced to take cross role mana regen abilities, and several of his abilities are of questionable usefulness. Sure it's still viable, but it's not as fun to play.

I've found it's better to just focus on hitting your burst windows without worrying too much about the small stuff. Even if you swap with 100 meter it's about DPS-neutral since you lose 200 potency from not using Inner Beast but you also gain a GCD. It makes building 100 for Inner Release a lot easier if you swap into Deliverance and instantly have 50.
