I don't understand why old PvP players are mad about the new PvP system. The streamlining has boosted the PvP part of the game by 10x. Both Frontline and Feast matches are insanely quick to find now, and lots of people are actually having more fun with the game now that you have less skills and more tactics to focus on. I like the fact that I have less skills because it allows me and my team to plan out our next moves better.

Then there's also the fact that everything is standardized now so gear doesn't matter and levels don't matter at all which is a very nice change, yet I see here and there a couple of old PvP players crying about this. I just don't understand why.

What do I do? I can't take this. I was so excited but after telling myself tanking would get better at 70 over and over and finally reaching 70 and being massively dissapointed. What FFXIV is lacking is good PvP, really.
But for that the game will need a slighty faster combat, but it should be fun doing castle sieges between FCs or World vs World events.

The pve is really fun but the thing that made me play during old school wow was the pvp. Pve content always gets a cap, playing against people is always different.

MoP was defintely a pleasant surprise and was one of my favorite WoW expansions. Ironically if we then compare WoW and FF's previous dragon themed expansion, I absolutely hated Cataclysm (giving the death dragon a fucking manicure? That's your fucking climax?) whilst I loved how the Dragonsong War was told.

i'm enjoying FF more at the moment, but SB has pushed the game into the worst place it's been since legacy imo. It's making all the same exact mistakes WoW has - and was designed from the ground up with a bunch of them.

I'm not expecting the good old days of MMOs that actually feature social aspects and genuine mmo gameplay to return, but WoW is still closer than FF is to that - FF is the most casual mmo i've ever played, and the most singleplayer

All of it's raids were great, especially ToT which was Ulduar tier, ok SoO went on for too long but so did ICC and everyone goes on about how great LK raids were

It has varied zones, a good levelling experience, brought back populated zones without flying and content like IoT and Timeless Isle, had World Bosses in Sha of Anger, Oondasta and the other giant artillery rhino thing. Class balance was pretty good, Monk was amazing and the story was pretty fantastic too

The main issue was the lack of dungeons, especially whilst levelling

Unfortunately FFXIV turns into a gear treadmill at the end, and I can't justify paying for that. I've gotten two separate characters to endgame content over two separate subscriptions. I tried and in a FC. You'd have to be a social butterfly to make friends with story mode being 60% instanced,servers now having instanced areas and everybody sparring in pvp. I can barely commend a random before everybody split up after duties. Fcs are usually in cliques and not many people run shit if they dont have their key friends involved and with 4mans being the majority of the content now there is not much room for a third wheel or fourth realistically speaking.

4.5k parses are people with potions, food, lucky crits, lucky direct hits and most importantly lots of buff stacking on them. Basically the group is doing everything to see how high their dps can get, it's far from being a normal situation.

If you are able to get 3.8k on susano on a normal PF run aka no potions no food no nothing and with the rest of the group doing shit PF dps then you are playing amazingly well. Don't be intimidated by fflogs autism because it's a terrible way of measure how good you actually are.

I get it's cool to hate on SAM and all but try to be as impartial as you can. Dragoon's aoe is literally 2 buttons doom spike > sonic something repeat while you use off gcd skills once in a while.

SAM main aoe has 2 combos (granted it's basically just 1 with a different skin) and a way to spend combo points plus it has a different resource to be spent as well.

NIN's aoe rotation is even worse than dragoon's, there are situations where it literally boils down to spam 1 skill.
